The game was good in my opinion. It just, it looks like they will finish the story at Shenmue 14.

That, plus the combat was dumbed down way too much, the whole HP which is also your stamina thingy, the game being basically two giant "get enough money to purchase this combat move you arbitrarily need" loops... while these things could have been excused on the dreamcast, on a "modern" game they really weighted down the experience (for me, at least).

Yeah, I agree that they could've modernized the experience. Otherwise the whole game looked like a chapter from the previous games. Also they should've finished the story with a longer game time instead of doing "there is a bigger fish in the background" thing.

I played the first game. Much of it was like watching paint dry. I respect what the game was trying to do back in 1999, but it wasn't a fun experience for me. One of the few games that I couldn't bring myself to finish this year.
