Check out http://www.bit-tech.net/, http://www.pcgamer.com/ and http://hexus.net/ for reviews.
Kb and mouse are like shoes, one size does not fit all. It'll be best to try them out in a shop regarding fit, noise etc.
Use reviews to gauge which functions you need. Also they don't need to be expensive. Some 100€ mice die just after the warranty runs out ;)

Thank you for the links, I'll have a look into those.
I'm just not sure at all what I want so I feel like maybe it'll take a while to look into reviews etc.

Personally I like Corsair keyboards and SteelSeries mice atm. I would stay away from the kids toys like Logitech and Razer.

Logitech use to be the thing to have. I've used their stuff in the past, but now it's meh. Some generic brands are better. Razor stuff just doesn't seem to last.
You could kill someone will a Corsair keyboard and it'd still be good. Tzaar can confirm this.

I've used Logitech in the past and haven't found them to be bad, depending on the item. I have a Logitech HD webcam which I really like.
I'll look into the two recommendations, thank you.

I'm not really interested in specifically gaming headphones, at least I didn't want to imply I was. Comfort is the most important thing as I said above.

I'm using Sennheiser HD 598, they are extremely comfortable (I have a small head as well), you'll hear background sounds as they are open, and sound quality is superb. I've actually bought them for listening to music, but they are also nice for gaming and watching movies. I think HD 558 that are considerably cheaper would be nice for gaming as well, and they are even more comfortable on the head.

Thank you for the Mionix and Zowie recommendations on mice.
The brown would probably be good for me, I like the feeling of a bump or something tactile rather than a click. I use my keyboard for both typing and gaming which may be an issue. I'll have a look into other mechanical keyboards brands.
I was planning on using the speakers if I had company and wanted to watch a movie rather than using them whilst speaking on chat.

I really like the razer stuff. Perhaps it's kid's toys, but it works well for me. I have a deathadder mouse, black widow keyboard and Kraken earphones. Honestly, try out different makes. Not all mice (mouses?) will work with your hand and you need to see if you like mechanical keyboards. For headphones, comfort is very important. I owned a steelseries Siberia before which was super comfortable, but it had faulty wiring, so I replaced it with the Kraken. The Kraken wasn't very comfortable initially, but I'm used to it now and I enjoy the sound. It is a very personal thing

They look a tad weird to me, like they are trying too hard to look like toys with bits that aren't needed.
I tried out a mechanical sample kit and also used a friends keyboard.
The problem I have is that there aren't that many stores near me that would stock quality products but not overpriced / impractical.
Do you feel returning the Siberia was due to a manufacturing fault on that one or a fault in the design?

The Siberia had a loose connection in the volume control which is attached to the wire. This resulted in me having to fiddle with the connector to get sounds in the right ear. I probably should have returned it when I noticed the problem, but I was just too lazy. I ended up buying the Kraken without returning the steelseries. I prefer the sound on the Kraken though, but for comfort, I could wear the steelseries headphones all day.

Fair enough. The SteelSeries is very highly rated which is why i got it. I obviously just got a faulty model. So I wouldn't discount it. The one disadvantage (or advantage, depending on your POV) is that both have a USB connector and not a jack, so they won't work on a phone or tablet.

I will read though these replies too as I am looking into getting new mouse/keyboard/headphones in the UK area too.
Unfortunately I cannot help much other than to warn you, I made the mistake of buying cheap unbranded "gaming" stuff of ebay/amazon etc and although they do work as intended and were very cheap I just wish I spent more money as I know for certain they could be better and sometimes it even makes me frustrated.
Speakers wise I have some old Logitech 5.1 (cost roughly £50) speakers and last year decided to upgrade and bought a new Otone 5.1 set costing £100 and after 2 weeks of testing I found them worse and returned them.....I think I am going to have to spend a lot more money to get an upgrade on these Logitech they are great for their price.

I'm a female gamer myself so i have the same problem with with finding the right mouse for my small hands. I'm using the naga epic chroma 2014 ed. which is made for people who mainly play mmo or in my case rpgs but since they are programmable i use them for other functions such as esc, backspace, vol control etc and have found them so convenient that i can't use any other mouse without missing all those functionality.(edit: forgot to mention it can be used wired or wireless and comes with a charging dock). For keyboard i use the blackwidow chroma which is a nice and for headset I use and highly recommend the hyper x cloud II. They have great sound , both for music and games and are comfortable for long gaming sessions, also has a detachable mic. I don't recommend SS Siberia since they tend to fall apart (become faulty) after a short period of use from my experience going through 2 sets of them. There are plenty of reviews on the cloud II and most rate them highly. Anyways these are just my personal opinions so hope it can help you somewhat but end of the day i do find with mouse esp that it usually comes down to personal preference, the feel and fit of it so maybe go to a tech shop and try them out yourself before buying if possible?

Hi all,
I'm having some issues with keyboard, mouse and headphones. My speakers aren't that good either.
Basically I would like your advice please.
Mouse:
Keyboard:
Headphones:
Speakers:
I live in the UK so a UK warranty would be a big bonus. Also, I would like the ISO/UK format for a keyboard, not US.
Price wise I would prefer to pay as little as possible, I mean who wouldn't?! However, quality is important to me. I am not looking for top of the range hardware but ones which will be comfortable, quality and will provide years of enjoyment.
So, what are your recommendations?
