Question about one of my give-aways

Hey I had a borderlands 2 give-away, and it recently ended today

The issue is that earlier today a lot of people (myself included) were unable to sign into steam gifts, I was wondering if it's possible to extend my give-away a few more hours into tomorrow for the people who weren't able to sign in to be able to enter.

I'm not sure if that's the right decision but morally I feel it's right cause if I was in the position I really would have wanted to enter the give-away..

Someone in the SGIFTS steam group chat told me I shouldn't contact support on this issue but I'm not really sure. What do you guys think should I just gift it to the current winner or should I contact support to try and get it extended?

Hm, I don't think you can extend giveaway duration.

It is over, I was just asking what do you guys think. I figured someone in support could extend it a few hours for those who missed it. I'll see what some more people have to say before I send it off to the current winner

Think about the (poor) lucky guy who won your giveaway. It's just like a reroll without any valid reason for him, cause if you "reopen" it, (very) likely it will be won by another one.

I'll just gift it to the current winner, even though in my mind it could have been someone else who was trying to sign in when we weren't able to.

When replying to someone, click reply under their message, don't make a new one..

Very thoughtful of you, this thread, by the way. But 2 things: 1) giveaways can't be extended, only deleted and remade with a longer duration, especially since doing so would mean manually editing data stored in the database, something support can't do, and that I bet cg won't do - too much hassle; 2) think about how you'd feel if you'd have won a AAA title like BL2 from almost 7,000 entries, then see your prize get taken back so even more people can enter, thus nigh-on insuring you won't win it again. Would be kinda crappy for the poor guy, don't you think? I think it's more fair that the people who couldn't sign in simply missed out, and get their shot again in other giveaways, later, rather than having a confirmed winner end up losing his win.

I didn't win the giveaway, and even though it's my most-wanted game and I'd love another bite at the apple, it wouldn't be fair if you didn't give it to the current winner.
