Greetings all. As promised, something a bit different this week. This week's puzzle finishes on Friday 29 July at the now traditional time of 11:59pm.

The prizes this week are:
Hoard - Complete Pack
Culpa Innata

This week's puzzle is called Applied Rules. In each of these, a particular rule has been applied to each of the words in the question. Answer the question, then apply the same rule to the answer. For example, here are two fishy examples.
Trthe Tropposite Trof Trin
This translates to “the opposite of in” with the letters TR appended to the beginning of each word. The answer is TROUT.
Sameane wha is in charge af a warker ar arganisatian
This is “Someone who is in charge of a worker or organisation” but with every O changed to A. The answer is BASS.

The following work exactly the same way, although the category that each of the final answers belong to is not fish.

Reserved for Solution

Some of these were clearly harder than others. The puzzle was designed so that you definitely did not need to solve them all to finish the puzzle. That is why it was done in SG rather than in ITH. I do not know if anyone got them all.

I had one difficulty, and flagged that one clue worked differently and that was Salem, Oregon. This was different in that it was a US state capital rather than national capital, and I did mark it as operating slightly oddly. I needed two O's and in terms of countries beginning with O, there's Oman and ummmm.... ummmm... ah..... I know, I'll use Oregon

Some sentences began with capital letters and some did not, keeping the same capitalisation as the clues and reading the first letters of the resulting countries (and one US State) we get: KILODELTAchaliegolfYANKEE. That's the NATO phonetic alphabet. Adding spaces we get KILO DELTA charlie golf YANKEE. The resulting giveaway code was KDcgY.

Somehow, you need to turn these into a code that will lead to the giveaway. Steamgift codes are always 5 characters long. Its too hard codes are 8 characters long.
