I mean, I know that it's new but..
$40 for the seasons DLC is horrifying.

That's like a completely new game. And in some cases, 2 or 3 games!
Did they really add so much that it would be worth $40, lol?

Because it's EA

I would like some of the 'stuff packs' but they are always to expensive

I had known EA was bad, but this bad?!

Looks like I gotta get it some other way.
Hopefully they will have a sale soon, or not..

I mean, I was totally going to buy it legit for my gf, but when I saw that...

Yo-ho-ho!

I hadn't done that in many many years.

Good for you,EA doesn't deserve the money, it's better to spend it on something else.

I did just buy Mirror's Edge for iPad for $0.99 so maybe that makes up for it.

Yeah my gf has been hounding me about getting her The Sims. She used to play it years ago and now has a fancy new laptop and wants it.

So I look into it and it's like $40 for the base game, and there's a dozen or more expansion packs all at $20-$40. Holy shit.

The Sims 3 is $15 right now (autumn sale), just the base I believe.
But yes, the DLC is stupidly priced.

Just checked retail prices... $30 for base game, and 15 DLCs totaling $440.

I got Sims 3 for $10 sometime within the last year. Which sounds nice, but yeah, the dlc pricing is terrible.

Most, if not all, of the DLC was discounted like 65-80 percent on GamersGate once. Sims Pets - $9.99, Sims Generations $7.50, stuff like that. Still adds up but at least there's hope for buying a couple..

Why are you even playing Sims 3? Same crap as the other 500 sims games. Stop burning your money.

Because the Casuals who play this game are that stupid to pay it! There are 40$ "Expansions" that give you like 4 new Funiture-Items to Build - TEH FUCK?
"The Sims 1" was fun back in the days, but more as a House-Building Simulator.

I remember playing The Sims 3 when it released and saying "well then this one has twice as less content as the main game of the 2nd one".

Good times.

Seasons is 20 on amazon.

That being said SOME of them are expansion packs, while others are overly priced dlc that hardly adds anything. I have a hard time picking up any of the dlc at full price because:

Initial release tends to be buggy as hell

They highly suggest you install in order, which is a hassle. You don't have to, but there are a few times where I couldn't play the game at all until I uninstalled and reinstalled all in order..

Only a few are honest expansion packs, like the "old" days. Two of the expansions are more or less the same I think. (Late night and showtime)

Stuff packs are not worth it. I have most only because of that silly origin mess up. I would never have picked any up otherwise.

I always pick them up on sale, for at least 50% off or more. :\ I think of all the expansions released now, that I've played enough of, World Adventures, Supernatural and maybe Ambitions are the best. I wouldn't pay 40 for them... Pets is good too... and you can buy sims 3+ one of the expansions for 50 I think.. I am not sure. They do add a bit in there, but not enough to justify 40 dollars.

EDIT:

I do agree there's less than other games, but at same time theres more in certain "departments" of the game. I can never play it for very long, unless I'm playing with a friend. :\
