So many doom bands creeping out of the shadows, thanks for this. It's quite good if a bit derivative but then what isn't these days?

2-for-1
Listened to this a few times recently, it has grown on me -- love the vocals.

Then on a more somber note:
I've listened to this a few times since the passing of Christopher Lee.
Hopefully he found Valimar.

Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind,
long years numberless as the wings of trees!
The years have passed like swift draughts
of the sweet mead in lofty halls beyond the West,
beneath the blue vaults of Varda
wherein the stars tremble in the song of her voice, holy and queenly.

Who now shall refill the cup for me?

For now the Kindler, Varda, the Queen of the Stars,
from Mount Everwhite has uplifted her hands like clouds,
and all paths are drowned deep in shadow;
and out of a grey country darkness lies on the foaming waves between us,
and mist covers the jewels of Calacirya for ever.
Now lost, lost to those from the East is Valimar!

Farewell! Maybe thou shalt find Valimar.

Heh, did you just watch Season 2 Episode 1 as well, and missed the first season's intro song?:)

Yup! As much as I like Cohen, the original song just seems... way more fitting.

Agreed. So far I find myself more interested in this season than I was after watching the first episode of last season. That could be just because my expectations were low (I'm not a particular fan of any of the leads but I have liked what I've seen from each of them) and I didn't even fully appreciate the first season until 4 or 5 episodes in but then fell in love.

Steven Wilson's new album Hand. Cannot. Erase. I'm trying to figure out whether I like the new direction this album went in.

I loved it. It's not as unique and memorable as his previous works, but it's a blast to listen to. It's great for when I want something pleasant and not too complicated or depressing.

Are you truly listening to the first song or just watching the video?:)

I used to listen to MOTA a lot, especially since they used to live about an hour away. Good dudes, great band.
Can't go wrong with Coltrane:)

Oh. I especially like that MOTA song. To me it's depressing in a good way.

I've been listening to Aoria, Opeth and VNV Nation lately. Also, I'll always mention Tom Waits in music-related discussions because... you know, Tom Waits.
