I make Boyfriend play Dungeon Siege 3, Gauntlet, and the Lego games (well, The Hobbit and LOTR) with me.
Well, Payday and stuff, too, but I don't think you're looking for things like that. :P
If you need casual, Gauntlet may be hit/miss, but it should be fine if she doesn't play the wizard. He's a pain to get used to. DS3 is a fun and simple enough dungeon crawler - if she liked Torchlight, I'm sure she'll like it, too. c:

may'bey try divinity original sin, its a great crpg. i found it very funny. the game makes you play rock paper scissors to decide who answers the next piece of dialog, so that may get annoying after a while. the game also lets you drop in and out, meaning if shes not around you can play and she can just drop in and continue to play with you.

+1, Borderlands is my favorite co-op game with friends. I have played for 100s of hours, tooons of variety, I highly recommend the GOTY edition, you might grab it on the Winter Steam Sale for $7.50 if you wait, it should start around December 18.

Try Rayman Origins, it might be a little fast but the fact that you can recover your partner should make up for that.

Risk of Rain was great, but he did specify for cas'. I guess if she gets the Huntress and kites, there wouldn't be much of a learning curve.
Spelunky with boyfriend was awful. We never got anywhere, we just threw rocks and shit at each other. :c lol.

LEGO games are super fun! I always wish I could play with someone in the same room or something while I play (instead of switching)..they are all good..like marvel super heroes, batman, indiana jones, star wars ..just check again on steam if it has co-op (online) play if that's what you intend

I would recommend Space Farmers. It's a fun co-op only game (actually it has a single-player minigame). If you don't want something big, just a little thinking, shooting and puzzlesolving, it's a game for you :)

My gf and I play Grid 2 most of the time. If you're into racing sims, I highly recommend it. You can still find it for cheap (it was bundled recently), you can use almost any controller with X360 Controller Emulator, and it supports local co-op.

Orcs must die 2,
Lara Croft & the guardian of light,
LEGO games,
Rayman Origins (altough i happen to rage quite a lot while playing it with my girlfriend),
Castle Crashers,
Path of Exile (if you liked Torchlight, plus it's free).
Preferences on the genre?

I'm looking for a good 2 player co-op game to play with my girlfriend. We already finished Trine 2, Torchlight 2 and Portal 2 and she really enjoyed all of them.
The game(s) should be casual and relaxed, not something that requires a lot of fast and precise movements or something that has a steep learning curve.
I was considering Hammerwatch. Towerfall, as fun as it is, falls into the category with a lot of fast and precise movements. We already tried Left 4 Dead 2, but she didn't like it.
Thanks for help.
