There were some parts I enjoyed, and it definitely left a lasting impression, but as many other serialized mangas there are points were the plot kinda suffers...
It's definitely not a bad one :)
Bleach, on the other hand, dropped the ball so hard that I'm glad it's now over, it feels like a mercy killing that was long overdue

I started seriously loosing interest when the fight between Ichigo and Aizen just became a series of made up powerups.
And I agree that the Quincy invasion reached a new level of stupidity. It basically takes all the worst tropes about Bleach (incomprehensible powers, deus ex machinas, etc.) and reiterates them over and over

I almost never think of those two as a couple because despite the ending it feels so one-sided. As it should. Ugh. Yuno is such a terrible character. Not that I cared much about either of them, but Yuno was awful.
That's the thing about a lot of anime/manga that is "mainstream" from what I've seen. The protagonists tend to be blech while the side characters are worth reading them for. I could easily name five side characters from Mirai Nikki that kept me invested in the manga, but it didn't stop me from wanting Yuno to die at pretty much every turn. >.> Naruto is one of the prime examples of this. I despise the main trio, but give me almost any of the other teams and I'll probably be interested.

It depends on what kind of vibe you wanna give off I guess...
If you wanna look like two lovebirds, pick a couple that shows affection on the screen (someone already suggested Mirai Nikki, for example), otherwise anything goes.
Like, any married couple from DBZ is thematically relevant, but no romance is ever shown on screen...
Also, if we wanna really stretch the definition of couple, there's Alucard and Seras from Hellsing and a ton of others.

I dunno, If you went like (for example) Bulma and Vegeta the first thing that pops to mind is "they are from the same universe", not "they are together"

If you want to play it cool / distant, Rock & Revy from Black Lagoon always struck me as having an interesting dynamic. The clothing also shouldn't require too much fussing to get right.

Another similar "unconventional" couple you could cosplay is Clare & Raki from Claymore, if you like more complex clothing (medieval style armor and such).
