I know there was one of them anime threads not too long ago, but this one's a bit different.

Okay, so uh.....I just watched the movie "Perfect Blue" for the first time (as my Internet is and was out all day and I had downloaded it a while ago for some reason, arrrr, pirates, though it was so good I may just buy it), and my mind was BLOWN! Never before have I watched a movie that was so mature, and yet not stupid, but also so predictable but also quite shocking in my prediction....and though I doubt there's anything like it out there, that was easily one of the best movies I've probably ever seen, and well, I'd love some more.

I rarely watch anime or anime movies (literally just Perfect Blue and like half of Studio Ghibli's library as a kid), but I feel like this could convince me to get into it. Anyway, as the title says if anyone could list some of their favorite anime movies (and maybe an anime or two- though for that if you just listed good mature-ish ones that'd be great as I know all the popular comedy/action-y ones already mostly; and I seem to like mystery/murder themed animes too, I dunno why but in addition to Perfect Blue I started Higurashi a few days ago and have really liked it so far) that would be fantastic! I'm sure I'm not the only one out there looking for good anime movies too. :D

Also, I hate writing on an iPhone.

Thanks!

Perfect Blue is awesome.

Anything by Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli (especially Princess Mononoke in my opinion), any of the Sailor Moon movies (if you like SM), Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Armitage III: Poly-Matrix, Armitage: Dual-Matrix, Tokyo Godfathers, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, Paprika, Blood: The Last Vampire, Vampire Hunter D, Ninja Scroll, Adolescence of Utena, The End of Evangelion*, X

*Ah! My Goddess!: The Movie is based off Ah! My Goddesss! (there's an OVA and a newer series, both awesome) and Adolescence of Utena is based off Revolutionary Girl Utena, both amazing and fairly underrated series you should check out. The End of Evangelion is from Neon Genesis Evangelion, a not-so underrated series that's also amazing, and you should watch that one if you haven't too.

A couple of the other ones also have corresponding anime series but the ones I named there are a few of my favourites, so I'm pointing those ones out in particular.

"(if you like SM)"

I know what you meant, but I still couldn't stop laughing at that. Yes, I'd have to be either a Sadist or a Masochist (depending on whether I like to force people to watch Sailor Moon or watch it myself) XD

Apart from that, I agree with most of your list :)

Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Monoke (probably spelled that wrong) , Spirited Away, Ponyo, My neighbor Totoro, basically anything by Studio Ghibly (probably spelled that wrong), I used to watch so many when I was little now I can barely remember the names of the movies!
