im making a pc. i have picked the cpu and the motherboard so far...
They are both DDR4 and AM4
(RYZEN 5 1500X and B350 Mate motherboard)
does the ram care if it is connected with intel or ryzen or whatever brand or does it only matter that it is DDR4 aswell?
sorry for asking a stupid question for my first build

The type of CPU does not matter, as long as it's compatible with the board, meaning it must be DDR4 and a supported speed (lower end boards generally do not support higher RAM speeds, check the board specs).

Apart from the motherboard, the only other component that cares about the CPU is the heatsink, though I've never heard of a heatsink that works with one brand and not the other.
