i did enjoy the series but this franchise became money maker...
in my opinion last game sucked REALLY HARD... ok... nice gameplay.. ok nice story... but did not answer any question left open in brotherhood... and the ending was terrible (something like... 'hey.. we forgot to explain things in the last game.. lets put everything together in 5 mins, do not answer anything so everybody will need to buy the next one to understand what's going on')
Ok.. nice... as expected we are going to another period (1700...) but to do not lose this franchise i guess they should put it in the present at once. We've played a little bit as Desmond... and we should finish the real world problem now... We have played as Ezio for what? to learn to be an assassin..... why will we play with another assassin other than prolong the series indefinitely?
blalablabla... i guess nobody has read it xD

haha i read it i think hey creat another assassins because they want to renew the game its being to be boring to play with one player all the trilogy....

I think playing as Desmond as a modern day assassin would be boring though. Too many shoot shoots these days man.

haha i want to see someday in the trilogy of assassins creed the assassin fly in elicopter haahahahahahaha

ok then... another amazing assassin is a desmond desmond relative... ok... but Desmond has already learn everything with one of the biggest assassins ever!
WHy to play with him, and keep the arc forever instead of playing in present... perhaps.. playing in present.. figuring out something is really wrong ...and maybe then trying to go back into the past to understand....
I don'yt know... It's true.. the game's became boring... playing in another time, with another combos, another outfit for enemies... perhaps 2 new weapons... that wont save it.. the main difference will be new building's and new colorfull uniforms...
The problem with the boring is: the innovation of the franchise has last untill assassin's creed 2.. perhaps brotherhood....
I agree.. playing in present could be really harsh... gunshots everywhere... etc... So the game could became a little more like Assassin's creed 1 (please.. i do not refer to the 'reach 3 objectives and assassinate somebody and receive permission to kill somebody'). A game where the fighting isn't the main gameplay... Or then, put the templars using some kind of mellee weapon... i don't know.. If we think like that we won't ever finish it.

ok i not have a power to read that.... i go to drink coca cola and i will start to read :D

Am I the only one who finds Desmond dull, boring, and therefore unattractive to play with? Seriously. I have never given a single fuck about Desmond.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope! Zero fucks given! It was even worse in AC1, when Desmond hadn't invented the "sprint" or even "jog" button yet.

I'm buying the game as soon as it hits stores, although I have yet to play Revelations. I like the period of history(AoE III!!!), it's Assassin's Creed[and the one that reportedly won't be made with copy-paste technique a'la any Call of Duty game- I don't know, because I check as little info about the games I'm interested as possible- better experience when playing them;) ]. Plus, it has awesome cover- one that would look well in any player's connection.

The last two were just milking. If AC3 can improve the franchise as much as AC2 did, then it might be interesting. Although they could have picked a much better setting, if you looked at the options in their survey. The trailer really didn't show you anything the leaked pics didn't and I am certainly not hyped.

It didn't tell you anything about the gameplay? Really? It told me that I can now run along trees.

I think the trailer neither told me nor showed me anything I didn't already know. It was quite a disappointment. I expect better trailers in the meantime. I'll be buying the game regardless. That's a given. However, I tend to expect more exposition in a trailer than that.

I like Assassin's Creed, but the setting for AC3 just doesn't make any sense.
the descendant of Arabic and Italian assassins is somehow a native American
the English are the bad guys when the previous games said America was founded and ruled by the Templars
an era where guns become more important than anything else, for a series that is focused on melee combat
empty forests and plains in a series that was all about free running in busy cities
assassin robes are even less stealthy in this setting than in the previous games, everyone would instantly recognise you
etc.
Either way I still haven't even completed AC2, let alone Brotherhood and Revelations. By the time I get to AC3 it'll probably be on sale for $10 or something so it's all good.

">the descendant of Arabic and Italian assassins is somehow a native American"
You do realise that to have a baby, you need two parents, right? And they can come from wildly varying backgrounds?
Comment has been collapsed.
Why? It's about as likely as a direct descendant of Altair being Italian.

Never heard of this little thing called the crusades?
From Arabia to Southern Europe is a small step, expecially considering the period the first game is set in. For a Southern European character to live among Native Americans isn´t very likely unless you´ve watched too much Dances with Wolves.

I'm going out on a limb and saying there wasn't many Italian and Arabs, see "none", in BRITISH COLONIAL FUCKING AMERICA (BCFA).

And the line could have easily moved from Ezio in Italy so some British family who moved to America, or this one may not even be a direct descendant of Altair, but from another bloodline that met up with Altair's. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

So having a small taint of some tosser Italian suddenly makes you dress up in robes and start dancing around with axes like a drunk Celtic Druid?

What I gathered from the trailer:
1) Pre-rendered cutscenes with no gameplay shown.
2) New setting that doesn't seem to compliment the core gameplay at all, no tall buildings in COLONIAL America to do the whole stealthy/jumpy assassin thing.
3) Terribly one-sided generic demonisation of British colonial imperalism showing a complete lack of narrative depth.
4) Clashing charactor design ripped straight from the old game thrown into a new setting.
5) A setting where combat was extremely static and heavily focused on muskets (very early trench warfare model) makes a stealthy melee assassin seem rather redundant.
6) Ubisoft, 'nuff said.
7) Again disappointed since the setting could have been anywhere from Ming China, Victorian England, Alexandria to Future Earth, all of which would have much more suited the core gameplay.
8) Chances are it's a shitty linear hack and slash.
9) Seems the storyline and setting to be pandering only to the American auidence, so much for French Art.
10) Don't exactly remember the Native Americans helping out in the Civil War, I thought they were still sore over that whole "small pox blankets" thing ;P
11) Swining around trees like a monkey seems to lack the grace and awe that the previous games had in it's "parkour" gameplay.
For the reasons I listed before I don't see any reason in the slightest to be interested in this title.

It's "parkour", not "pakor".
Other than that I agree.

Fixed just for you. A few spelling mistakes aren't too bad for 4am I hope.

What the hell are you talkin gabout? British WERE demons. Didn't you see The Patriot?.
Comment has been collapsed.
The last Patriots I saw were the ones who took my CoT while I was busy with the Golden Horde. Ironically I think the British funded them.
Yay for obscure references!

Hang in there, baby!
