Oh damn, that's nice. I got the game and two of its DLC's from the humble choice bundle, and with this steam bundle (the one In Spec is a tad cheaper) I can buy the remaining two (8€ tactical pack and 40€ expansion) for 4,68€ which seems like a pretty good deal because those two (especially the expansion) are supposed to add a lot more content if I'm reading things right.
I'm a bit conflicted though because while it does seem like a great deal I've never played any XCOM game before so I don't know will I even like this one (in case I wouldn't like it, then buying this would be a waste).
Can I get opinion from XCOM players on this? Personally I really love turn based tactical games so I'm definitely attracted to XCOM games (which is why I've activated them all from bundles I bought so far), however I heard they're VERY RNG based and unfair, how true is that?

Then you will love this series. I have only played the first XCOM and I like it a lot, is a lot better with XCOM: Enemy Within DLC.
I heard they're VERY RNG based and unfair
Well, there's RNG involved for sure, I don't think is so unfair but it is true that you will fail some shots right in front of the enemy...

Good to know. I have all three DLC's for the first one. I wonder how long will this XCOM 2 bundle stay at this discount, maybe I should give the first game a go before deciding whether to buy the DLC's for the second.

Like in this picture? xD

When I see things like that it just makes me lose will to bother giving XCOM games a try. Does this happens often?
EDIT: Oh damn, I just saw how many hours you've put into both. I'm impressed those two can be fun for so long. Do they have some kind of procedural generation of levels/events?

XCOM 1 with and without DLC and XCOM2 with and without DLC are great games, fun from start to finish.
What makes it enjoyable for so long is that your squad gets better and better, while the levels get harder, and your technology progresses all at the same time. All games essentially play the same, but the amount of specialization and customization is what makes the difference.
additional elements / customization / individual abilities:
Enemy Unknown -> enemy Within -> XCOM 2 -> War of the Chosen
XCOM Enemy Unknown your squad are basically regular soliders, while XCOM 2 War of the Chosen it's more like your squad are the avengers.

Hello future Commander.
From what I can see in your library and what you stated here you´re set for now. You own 3 out of the 4 available games (I´ll explain later) and that should give you anything from 100 to endless hrs to play with ..
Basically the expansions Enemy Within & War of the Chosen make different games out of their respective bases XCom:Enemy Unknown & XCom 2. Personally I would rate them as follows:
I didn´t comment on the purely cosmetic DLCs (Elite Soldier, Resistance Warrior, Anarchy´s Children). That´s really a matter of personal preference & hard disk space but then again; What would Barbie & Ken do without their wardrobe ? ; -
Tactical Legacy on the other hand doesn´t affect campaignplay. It´s a couple of missions in the style of the first game & linked to War of the Chosen - you can´t play it without WotC !
On a side note iirc XCom let´s you pick what DLC you want to start your campaign with, while XCom 2 puts whatever is installed into a new game.
To sum it up I´d say take a pick and start a game - while I have no guarantee I believe that Bundle will stay around and prices will fluctuate depending what of its contents are on Sale.

Thank you for a detailed reply. Since everyone says that EW extension makes XCOM a lot better, I guess there's no reason not to play it with that DLC enabled, as well as the other ones I have. I like getting the full experience anyway with games.
Not sure how I feel about XCOM 2 and WOTC, been reading some reviews on the latter and some people claim that it screws up the pacing in the game and makes it a lot harder (some even say it's unbalanced). Any opinions on that?

Sure : D they´re some of my all-time favorites
I agree, EW is the better game after all, so I rated it 1st - but imo it adds so much you can basically call it another game rather than just a DLC. And EU still remains a great title to play albeit minimalistic in comparison.
I believe that even more so to be true for XCom2 and WotC ! These are really like two games on the same engine. So ofc pacing & balance are very different but that doesn´t necessarily make it harder. It just has another vibe to it, which requires you to adopt yor playstyle accordingly. eg: managing a double-kill in XCom 2 can really be a moment of pride & joy - in WotC you can take out an entire enemy squad with one of your uber-soldiers and still ask; Who´s next?
On a personal note WotC became a little too over the top for me to really get into it. Then again there´s an abundance of Mods out there to turn the game into practically whatever you want ..

Cheers for the heads up . May pick this up for the missing DLC's :)

nice, thanks! those dlcs are normally pretty expensive. i got 'enemy within' ($30), 'war of the chosen'($40) and its 'tactical legacy pack' for under $7 total.

Nice! I might just pick this up instead of the Humble Choice since I only want Chimera and Control, and I'm not sure about getting the Control Standard if I'll end up buying the DLC's later anyways

Got bug in this bundle.
I own all except elite soldier pack and chimera which give me 84% discount but after I add it into cart, at cart it show I miss 3 items which also include xcom enemy unknown and charge me more. I own xcom enemy unknown and steam show that I own it. The bug only appear in cart when I want to make payment.

I have the same problem, I own Enemy Unknown but it keeps adding it to the bundle and will not let me purchase it for myself.

I'm getting the error, but the cart doesn't show any games that I am missing. It just keeps insisting I am trying to buy something that I already own, but it doesn't show that I am (Enemy Unknown is one of the items in my cart, but I don't own it yet). Cleared my cache, but that didn't help. I guess they just don't want my money.

I found a workaround for this. First add Xcom Enemy Unknown (base game) to your cart, and then add the Xcom Ultimate Collection to your cart, you will see how now the Ultimate Collection has the price previously advertised and how Xcom Enemy Unkown isnt included, now you just delete Xcom Enemy Unknown from your cart and the price of the package should stay the same.

I tried your method (I already remove the xcom enemy unknown), it gives the correct price but still fail in payment.
This is the message.
"You cannot complete your transaction because you are attempting to purchase an item that is already included in another packaged item in your cart. Please check your cart to verify that you are not purchasing an item multiple times. The most common cause would be purchasing DLC along with a deluxe version of a product that already includes the same DLC."

If the price adjusts to what you already have, yeah. But most of the heavy hitters (Xcom2 expansion, the new Squad one) are on discount.

The collection is broken for me, it shows that it will cost x amount but when I added it to the cart it adds the base XCOM Enemy Unknown to my cart as well increasing the amount it costs, I won the base game so yeah... hopefully they fix this error before the special ends so that I can also buy it.

You are probably right, the package from the store is different (includes XCOM: Enemy Unknown Elite Soldier Pack DLC):
Store: https://steamdb.info/sub/17222/apps/
Mine: https://steamdb.info/sub/16377/apps/
Change to the store package: https://steamdb.info/sub/17222/history/?changeid=6988662

Damnit, this worked just fine, until I got to the payment screen then I got an error blocking me.

This is after I removed XCOM Enemy Unknown from the cart

After looking into this further I found that I got XCOM Enemy Unknown through a Humble Bundle key that activated multiple games
XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, Ace Patrol Bundle, and Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete
And as such the game XCOM: Enemy Unknown isn't listed anywhere in my Steam activation list, though I DO own the game, I think the purchase is trying to check against my activation and purchases list to see if I own the game there instead of directly at my library.
But when I try to complete the purchase it then checks against the correct area as Steam tells me I already own XCOM: Enemy Unknow.
Ugh...

I got a reply from Steam Support
"We have had several reports of this issue which has has been reported to the appropriate team and they're investigating to figure out what's going on here.
While we don't have an estimation of when the issue may be resolved, but we recommend that you periodically check the store to see if it has been resolved.
We appreciate the heads up and hope you're able to complete your purchase soon."

Yeah, this bundle is broken for me too.
When I try to pay for it I get error message:

Too bad, hope they fix it though, this one is a great offer.
EDIT: They did indeed ''fix it''. Worked like a charm for me now.

You guys can thank me for this bundle deal!
I waited 7 years for the Enemy Within DLC to finally get cheaper than the (old) Xcom-Complete bundle. I gave up the wait three weeks ago. It was clear that they´d finally release a "complete your collection"-deal once I caved in.
So yeah, you´re welcome. ..and I´d like some cake please

Im not in the rush to get the games but I do have both XCom and XCom 2 Base game and want the DLCs. I believe Summer sale is coming, do bump the thread up to see the comparison between the sales.
In this sale i dont see some DLCs with discounts which usually is applied to the bundle discount too. However, due to situations they might not have a larger discount for the Base games either. Would be interested to know the difference. :)
Cheers~

What the title says. Most people already have different games / dlc from the bundle, so they can pick up the rest cheaper. For example, I can get Chimera Squad for just 2.7€.
Edit: Link for the whole series or Link for people that only want Xcom 2+dlc.
