I really really really really really really really really want Bioshock Infinite and Bioshock 1. I already have the 2nd but I want to play the 1st one before that. But, I can easily afford the original Bioshock. My problem is affording Infinite. Does anyone have any idea when it will be on sale?

I'll bet Amazon will sell Bioshock 1 and 2 in a cheap bundle soon. Doubt Infinite's going to get signicantly discounted soon.

I think they did have a Bioshock 1+2 deal before on Amazon. That's how I got mine.

Yeah, it was that $10 pack a while ago.

I'm pretty sure I got 1+2 for $5 during the winter sale. From amazon, that is.

I'm guessing you got the 5$ credit

Nope, just checked. Bioshock + Bioshock 2 was $5. The $10 one was the Desert to Sea bundle, which added Spec Ops The Line.

On SteamTrades, you don't have to trade stuff, there are plenty guys selling Bioshock Infinite keys for PP (between $20 and $28)

Should've just pre-ordered. I'd look for trades now if you want it cheap though, good luck!

No, he shouldn't have. Even if a game turns out good, that doesn't justify pre-ordering.

So it would've been okay if he bought it when it released, or the day after?

Permalink

Assuming he waited for some feedback from people who played through the game, yes.

But how would anyone play through the game if no one should buy it before others play it? Your argument is flawed.

There was, as well as a copy of the first Bioshock. If he wanted both games, then he should have just pre-purchased on Steam.

Did you say HATS??? I'm off to buy 12 (TWELVE! DOZEN!) copies right nao!

I paid $45 for Bioshock Infinite, XCom: EU, Bioshock and the TF2 Hats. There were other deals around at GMG, Amazon and GG of a similar offer, if not cheaper. I doubt you'll see a similar deal for the game at that price/with those bonuses for a fair while.

Even once the game hits 50% off (which will take quite some time), it will be $30. The bonuses are easily worth $15 (and probably more if you trade the hats for a decent price).

Totally agree with the sentiment that in a case where the economic advantage is so great, and the chance of the game bombing so low, that a person should pre-order.

Why do you think that the chance of bombing was low?

And according to your calculation, anyone pre-ordering basically gets the game for $25-$30. I would not consider this a good deal for any game. And I'm sure almost everyone who pre-ordered the game has a big enough backlog to keep them busy until BI goes on sale for less than that.

The Irrational Games team has always produced high quality products with a level of passion and attention to detail which exceeds many AAA developers. If their history was not enough, you could see the passion in the bonus materials included in physical distributions of the game as well as in the trailers which featured game-engine footage (unlike Aliens:CM and many others). Bioshock Infinite was Irrational's next baby, and it shows.

$25-30 is a STEAL for the experience you get from this game. If all was just and equitable people would throw money at the screen, paying double or more what they were asked to pay because it IS worth it.

HA! I bought $37.70 worth of TF2 Keys (29 of them for $1.30 ea) and traded that for Bioshock Infinite Pre-order!

lolz...

To others: As it is right now, if you want BI, you can still get it on the steam group Hookups. They have a bundle deal for $35, Bioshock Infinite and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

The fact that it is made by Irrational Games justified it for me and I can say it was well worth it. :)

Typical trade value for Infinite is 25 dollars. You can still get B3+Xcom+Industrial rev for 35 dollars.

Wait 1-3 months and it'll drop down to like $25. Or get a key on steamtrades, many people got it from AMD never settle and they sell them for $25. I just sold mine for $25 yesterday.

Only applies for square enix AAA games

This. A game of this caliber is not going to be less than 50% of its price in 1-3 months. That's just wishful thinking on Archlion's part.

Have to agree. Games with reviews like the ones Bioshock Infinite have been getting don't have to drop their prices anytime soon. To be honest, i'm glad I snapped up a preorder.

Borderlands 2 is still pretty new, was on sale for around $20 a couple of times on GMG and GG. DMC got cheap fast too.

that's just because of the winter sale, in B:I's case, there's no big seasonal event soonfor it to go 50% sale, 33% is plausible

Well Bioshock Infinite keys are going for around $20-30 on steamtrades so that's still an option :)
