It's like this every single sale. Last day is encore day. Don't know why you'd be disappointed.

Well steam was a big disappointment this year i still got $180 and i think i spent maybe $30 plus this "OMG they will buy games just for the cards" that i dont care about but i will say that Green Man Gaming was a lot better for me as i got a lot more from them one being BL2 plus Season Pass for 75% off for $13.50 plus the "Encore day" has every sale back live Steam has what 8-10 so Meh

Too many times i've got 'There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance.' error. And europe price was a fucking joke, for example Xcom, in euro= 9.99 in dolars= 9,99. So yea i'm disappoint of summer sale.

People always say the sale was "Disappointing" because they were expecting Skyrim 80% or something else that ridiculous. The sale is not about HUGE % discounts. It's the amount of games that go on sale in such a short time. So anything you were waiting for to go on sale for the last few months, most likely was available during the sale. Those are the people who walk away from the sale happy.

The ones who were expecting to pay $5 for $50-$40, are the ones who walk away from the sale "disappointed". It's rare that a game gets discounted significantly more on the summer, winter sale, than they would on a weekend or daily deal. The autumn sale has a better chance of having greater deals. 2 yrs ago, I got Empire Total War Gold Edition (Included Empire & Napoleon + All the DLC for both games) for $7. I have never seen that deal ever again.

Thank you. I don't mean to sound passive aggressive, but some people can be whiny as fuck. Be glad that you're getting so many 50%-esque sales in the first place.

Reminds me on DayZ back in it's heyday. People were so upset that Arma 2, a game they had never heard of before DayZ existed, wasn't on sale for $3.

I'm only disappointed by the lack of variety in games in daily and flash deals and in the community choice. The same games appear in those everytime. I'd rather see some indie games as daily deals instead of Skyrim and the others for the 6th time.

Waited for prince of Persia or Splinter Cell sale but... never saw more than 30% which, in my opinion is a bit too much for games which came out like 2-3+ years ago. Also, Skyreeeem discount was just ridiculous with 40% off, it has been 2 years and the price is still too high. But that's fine since I've got some shit to do soon anyways so it'd just end up in backlog. Typical $=€ bullcrap I won't even comment.

I was definitely surprised by that. It's usually a sale. I guess it's considered "old" by now. Was expecting Darkness 2 to be a daily deal as well.

Seems like 2K and Ubi didn't care much for this summer sale.

Not that worst at all. I got "free" games, because cards and cheap crate keys <3

I haven't spent any money either due to cards but I still feel like this summer sale was a little lacklustre.

yeah got myself some free games thanks to trading cards (HL2 Ep one, Tomb Raider Underworld, E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy and Strike Suit Infinity and some DLC's for newest Tomb Raider)
If you used cards this way, they worked out like the coal thingy from previous sale.

previous sales were much better because this time:

  • some games werent on sale at all (Splinter cell, Amalur, Stalker etc.)

  • some games were more expennsive than in previous sales (star wars games, Dead Space etc.)

  • and no publisher packs

About your points:

  1. Happened before too. There was not one sale in which all games were discounted.
  2. Again: Happened before too.
  3. The only valid point you're making. But is there seriously someone who buys them? Why would I buy the package of a publisher? It's quite unlikely to like all the games included.

The Steam seasonal sales have been pretty sucky for the last couple years, but at least this time around we had those stupid trading cards to make up for the overall poor discounts. I grabbed over half a dozen games and a handful of DLC packs, and I managed to keep my cash budget under $10.

Probably there are a lot of people who only buy on Steam or they are not really interested in checking deals, other sites and stuff.

Last day has been Encore day for every major Steam sale over the last 4 years. If you were honestly expecting something different you should probably get your head looked at. Furthermore, being that the card featured in the promotion coincided with the a featured sale every day, and there were only 10 cards, it was pretty much a given that day 11 wouldn't have any new sales.

I was just hoping that plain ol' Skyrim would get a better sale instead of seeing the legendary edition for the 20th time at the same price it's been the entire sale.
