Hey, since this came up... what exactly counts as a referral link? It's not like a beta is a competing service. Some info please? Especially since I see people bumping their own sites/blogs all the time here, I don't think I have it exactly figured out.

Months ago someone posted a referral key that was linked to their GreenManGaming account. Everyone who made an account with his referral link got 5 GMG credits to buy any game. Almost everyone who was active at the forums clicked because they thought there was nothing wrong with it, since I believe you do not gain anything when someone buys a game with referral credits.

Once Lokonopa saw it he closed the thread and posted a reminder that referral links are against the rules.

Also advertising such as promoting your blog is okay, as long as there is not referral link.

If they try to sign up but don't meet the account verification (or only used SteamTrades), their account creation date is still then.
