So, the BL2 Season Pass is 30$ in the US, but only 10€ in the EU? Why is that?

Edit: K, they fixed it. I got a copy for €10 :)

Too true, it's £7.99 here in England. If I bought the game as a physical copy from Amazon though, and then add it to Steam. I can still buy the season pass on Steam and it'll all work, right?

If you're able to active B2 on Steam, it's just like you bought it from Steam. So yeah, the Season Pass will work.

It should as both are to be activated on steam.

I just checked the store, and it's €29,99 -.-

If you search Borderlands 2, it'll say €9,99. But if you click it, it'll say €29,99 -.-

It'll give you all upcoming DLC's for a set price (30$) as soon as they release.

well, Borderlands 1 also has a DLC pack with all its 4 DLCs in it.

Not all.
It gives you all the planned "add-on campaigns" (four of them) from now until June 2013, which they're calling Season One. There may still be smaller DLC (character class, skins, etc.) along the way that's not included and it wouldn't include any DLC after those four - if they make more, they'd probably create a Season Two pass, depending on the reception.

tl;dr: Season Pass includes the FOUR add-on campaigns scheduled to come out within the year.

Meh, I'll just wait for the GOTY edition. You know, the one that should be the game at release.

Looking at Borderlands 1

Not necessarily. Last time Gearbox released a full game, their Borderlands DLC was really addon content, not "parts which should have been in the actual game".

None of the DLC scheduled for Season One is done, so no, it couldn't be included at release. They started work on some ideas after the game went gold about a month ago, but that's it. Even the Mechromancer, which is free to pre-orderers, isn't complete yet.

Actually from what I've heard, it is complete, they were even surprised they would finish with it so fast. And to be honest, until they can come up with new ideas, a game is simply not finished. Announcing these new ideas mid-development, and the fact that they will charge everyone for it with the exception of pre-orders seems like a dick move to me. Give a later release date, and just include it on the final game, period.

you don't NEED the mechromancer to play Borderlands 2, besides, aslong as they don't charge 15$ for just a new class/skins, then i'am fine with it (10$ is not much for the DLC they provide)

They will charge 10-15 for that class, I guarantee that.

I guarantee they won't. We're talking about Gearbox, not Activision.

really? if they charge 10$ for a fully fledged DLC with loads of things to do, do you really think they will ask the same for just a class?

Comment has been collapsed.

First of all, you heard wrong - Mechromancer is NOT complete. It was originally scheduled to be released 60-90 days after launch...they are currently ahead of schedule and expect it to be less than 60 days, but there is absolutely no way it would be ready for Day One release.

As for the rest of your comment...wow. Are you really that naive when it comes to game development? I mean, I'm getting my master's in game design, but I really don't think I need that knowledge to understand how the process works.

well, just like BL 1. It has a DLC pack too. And of course they milk it. Borderlands 1 was a mega topseller. Still I trust in Gearbox when it comes to game development. I mean, BL1 was great, BL2 will be even better.

Im going to wait till all this price list and region lock gets fixed. You cant even activate the DLC due steam not detecting that you have the preorder :p

GZ. But I would not pay 10€ EXTRA for future DLCs... WTF! You don't even know what the DLCs are about! Maybe they will release a DLC that gives you 3 pink Skirts...

yes. Gearbox announced there will be Season Passes for PC, X360 and PS3. 30$ each (or 2000whatever MS Points)

ill need to see how much each dlc is before i get the season pass, it might not end up saving me any money as I am getting some of the dlc free with my preorder

Permalink

Gearbox already announced it.

Preorder DLC is the mechromancer class, the 4 DLCs in the Season Pass contain campaigns and such and will cost 9.99$/€ each. So the season pass will save you money even if you preorder BL2.

Sometimes the DLC is not worth it. And sometimes people say games were released unfinished and the DLC should have been in the game. In the case of borderlands 2 and gearbox however I have no such fears :)
