No PSU specs? Also, is it a ready-made computer?

All modern computers support DDR3.
Have you thought about a new computer build?

Also I can't find anything about the hp 3032h MobO so it's probably a prebuilt.
What brand and model is your desktop?

But why exactly do you want to upgrade your ram for? 4GB enough for mostly anything.
If you want to spend money on more parts just save up for a new computer instead of trying to modernize and old one. D:

If you want we can suggest what computers parts to use on your build.
I can make a build depending on your price range.

You can still buy ddr2, it's a bit costly, but it'll be cheaper than replacing all internals (especially for a prebuilt machine - you'll probably find out that a normal atx mobo won't fit in your box). You can get 2GB*number of ram slots max memory. Typically that means 8GB.

Now that I got the info I need, you can't upgrade the mobo. You gotta get a new computer entirely. I recommend some specs below for you to consider.
Core i5 2.6GHz min
4GB(32 bit)/6-8GB(64 bit) RAM
Nvidia GPU, with at least 1GB Graphic RAM
550-600W PSU, depending on what power level you're using times 2
1TB HDD, with a SSD for the OS if you can afford it
A decent mobo(I won't specify any specific one cause of country differences)
A casing, with USB 3.0 support

And don't get a prebuilt one if you want to upgrade.

Why?

The GPU is a matter a preference indeed but PSUs have their best efficiency at 50% load, that's why the x2. :)

I know several people who have 500-550w PSUs on their rigs and and their PSUs haven't busted.
It's silly to even buy twice as much the wattage since you'll never use it.

It's not about using it, it's about having the most efficiency, which means consuming less and generating less heat. Of course I'm not saying to spend 50 extra bucks just for that, but if the difference when buying is little, keep it in mind.

It's not silly cause PSUs do depreciate over time. Thus it's safer to actually get twice so as to prevent a short when the wattage level falls below what you use.

As for why Nvidia, it's cause it does save power though it breaks your wallet at the start. And some of them are cooler and/or quieter.

If you are using it mainly for gaming, I would only change the GPU (and the PSU accordingly). All the rest is still good. Mileage may vary, depending on the resolution you play.

Some/most prebuilts have special PSU connectors that won't fit in if you buy a non-stock one.

In this case I'd suggest opening it and looking at it. :D

Lol, you don't measure GPUs by the amount of ram they got :-).

Yes, but is there any other thing that you can differentiate at first glance when seeing what specs a card has?

I have a Q6600 Mobo that uses DDR3, they are out there but rare nowadays.

Depends on the year it was built. There's computers that can't support DDR3 with Core 2 Duo CPUs.

don't mind getting mora ram to that pc...
save money and buy a new pc part by part, much cheaper and you get exactly what you want/need.
if you are on a budget go for amd (cpu and gpu). Phenoms are still very good, and the new hd 7770 is a great card for its price.
maybe you can even sell yout current pc to a friend or relative and get some cash for your new rig.
