Very frustrating, but at least these master hackers will be back in school soon.

There's no DDoS attacks on Steam. Just everyone wants to sell or buy the holiday sale cards in the last minutes before it disappears...

There is. Steams server can handle the traffic for it's members. Even though there was no expiration on the cards, the summer event is a good example. People where trying to hoard cards for future profit.

The Steam servers are always struggles during sales. So no, the servers cannot handle the traffic...

So you know there is no ddos attack on steam servers how exactly? ... sigh

Because DDoS is not needed to Steam to crash... sigh...

People don't need to be shot to die. They still die, and they'll still die from being shot. Just because no DDOS attack is needed for Steam to crash doesn't mean there's no DDOS attack when it does.

no its not enough, but its getting ddos right now, Origin got ddos while double exp event, and now some retards are ddosing steam so the cards expire and nobody can trade. some even admitted to be behind the ddos but well everybody can claim that.

oh really? didn't know that. but how is that relevant and how does that prove that there is no ddos? ... s i g h

The data involved for trade and sales is minuscule, there is no reason for the servers to be down for that. And yes, just as vonPreussen said "Just because no DDOS attack is needed for Steam to crash doesn't mean there's no DDOS attack when it does.".

No reason? Did you saw steam on free L4D2 day? You didn't even needed to trade to get it, yet steam crashed under load. Gabe throws too much money on sandwiches, not enough on servers :|

There was nothing in the news. And Steam is working just fine for me... The card traders gave up.

Wasn't Steam also under a hack-attack? Sleepy told me so. He's a viable source. Russian, but viable.

Lol.

He should put that on his Steam-Page. You know, like on game-pages, where there are oneliners from various reviews.

I will also vouch for sleepy as he is the only cat-bear Russian in existence.

Article talking about 'hackers'. DDoS has nothing to do with hacking, unless you call a kid that has a gun a soldier...

I'm starting to wonder what is wrong with this site too. I got a few new games yesterday and tried to sync my account. I had one somewhat successful sync about six hours ago which updated my games list but lost my Groups and Wishlist so now I can't join any Group giveaways because the system thinks I'm not in any Groups and SG+ is useless as my Wishlist games are still showing games that aren't on my Wishlist anymore and not any new items that I added (I think SG is using my prior list though it shows no Groups or Wishlist entries). Now when I try to sync it says that I need to make my profile Public (which it is) and it won't update at all. I went to IsThereAnyDeal today to update my account there (they use the same method to get your User info as this site does) and it updated within seconds after I made the request and got all of my info correct. I have been able to do this several times this morning on their site (tested by changing items on my Wishlist) with no issues so I don't think it's all on Steam's end now. I have tried several times here in the last few hours with nothing resulting. Very frustrating to say the least.

I added a few games this holidays and I can't sync my account at all, it's been 5 days and I've added at least 2-3 more games since then.
