Hi, Will i get banned if i use a VPN just to acces services like Steam and SG ?
you see I live in Algeria and they decided to block a shitload of website
I won't buy anything nor try to workaround any region restriction

For better understanding of the situation

few weeks ago there was a massive leak in secondary school exams
They say in the article that only social media is blocked but I can't acces games in my account in Steam, nor acces Steamgift itself

So will i get baneed if I use a VPN just for accessing those website?

Steam Gifts has an automated system to detect "multiple accounts", so you would get banned in the case that your chosen VPN is used by another SG user.
On Steam, there's a chance they would detect the use of a VPN, but if you don't buy anything, they might just ignore it.

They don't know what they are messing around with, first they stated that only Social Media are blocked (I don't care about social media) but now even Google get blocked and unblocked

When i wrote my topic Steam was blocked, but now it's seems that it was unblocked as well as Steamgifts

Anyway I hate incompetente people messing around, 600.000 students get to pass their exams, yeah let's block Social media and other random website for all 40.000.000 people in the country

Thanks for the answer

Steam actually could be considered a social network, it's just that the social part is optional.
I guess when that leak happened, they tried to block anything that could've been used for communication, but then probably they realized that they exceeded a bit...

Yes, they will banned you, especially if you use free VPN services.
better try Simple DNSCrypt, it can unblock websites & secure your connection. No need VPN at all, so your account remains the same without any risks from VPN services.
