Hi everyone,

I'm looking to expand my whitelist as I think whitelist giveaways are a special way of showing appreciation for something nice that people have done for you. I want to create more giveaways in the future and want to make some of them whitelist-only.

Also, I have a current whitelist giveaway of God of Failure running which ends on 3rd June. Sadly I didn't take into account that either a whitelist needs to be big enough, or the game needs to be really popular in order for a small whitelist giveaway to work, so I'm still struggling to get the 5 entries. However I would like to keep the giveaway running instead of deleting it or not gaining anything towards my contributor level.

So, if you would like to be on my whitelist, and especially if you would like to enter the giveaway for God of Failure, I'd be more than happy to add you. Just leave me a comment answering these questions:

1) Would you enter for God of Failure until 3rd June?
2) What is a book/musician/artist/game that you like and can recommend?
3) What's a very minor detail that you love about certain games? E.g. the soundtrack in a game, the attention to detail put into the artwork etc.?

Even if you don't want to be added, I'd appreciate a bump. :) Have a good day!

Edit: I think I have enough people on my whitelist for now, but I might do something like this again sometime. Thank you all for your comments and good luck with the giveaway!

Here's a link to store page if people would be interested in looking it up (I know I was).

1) Yes
2) My favourite short recommendation would probably be the classic To The Moon which can be finished as an interactive story in ~4 hours. I see you don't have it in your library yet. Remember that it has been bundled several times though, so find a deal somewhere.
3) I love when games pay great detail to immersing the player by thinking ahead and including rewards for non-obvious solutions. Making the game world come alive so you can relate to it and feel like you're making a difference instead of following a script.

Thank you for the chance! 😄

  1. It doesn't look like a game I would enjoy playing and since I enter only giveaways for games I want to play the answer is no.
  2. The game I could recommend is Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine. It has amazing stealth gameplay both in singleplayer and multiplayer and is one of my favorite games I played :)
  3. Two things which are really meaningful for me and can make the "raw game" MUCH better if done right are the OST and achievements.

  3. Definitely the soundtrack. A good/fitting piece of music adds a whole lot of dimension to any game.

  1. Yep.

  2. Baldur's Gate 2. Number of spell and different tactical formations to win a fight. Brute strength, magic or stealth all work and viable. :-)

  3. Links into number 2 where games actually have a number of ways to get to the next point in the game rather than leading you down a tunnel or a OP method of building your character or party up. Borderlands 2 and the Gunzerker class just ruined it for me a bit. Playing as a siren with one of my mates as a gunzerker was just crazy. It was such an OP class it could easily solo raid bosses.

and I almost forgot, BUMP!

  1. Errr... No, not really.
  2. Just played Steamworld Heist, it was quite awesome! But Crypt of the Necrodancer is probably the most underrated game ever.
  3. I am indeed a sucker for good soundtracks (Steamworld Heist, Bastion, Transistor, ...)... But what really really gets me is a nice companion in a game (Sands of Time, Bioshock Infinite, etc.). Or a deranged AI, that will do too (System Shock, Portal).

Cheers (and bump)!

  1. No, but if you require 5 entries I don't mind joining :) I've just given this game recently to a friend who wishlisted it!
  2. I like novels written by Agatha Christie. If you're into mystery then she's my favourite mystery author of all time because her plots aren't cliche and I love the unexpected plot twists.
  3. For minor details, especially for games that have been adapted from another source e.g. movie or book, I pay particularly close attention to how well the game stays true to its original plot and small, nifty details in the books that have been added into the game just increases my appreciation for the developer's efforts.

Thank you for your reply! If you don't want the game yourself, maybe it would be best if you didn't enter, but I appreciate the thought! (I hope I will reach the 5 entries)

I also really appreciate plots that aren't cliche, it just gets tiring after a while. I've actually often heard of Agatha Christie novels but never read any. So I will check them out when I feel like reading some mystery novels!

I am not interested in this GA but I just wanted to give you an advice. If you run into same problem (less than 5 entries) in the future, you can use this thread. Just post that you will give people interested a temporary whitelist. People are quite fast to response in that thread :)

  1. Would definitely
  2. For games I'd recommend , Owl Boy definitely, it's a lovely atmospheric game with interesting gameplay plus the sprites are just gorgeous to look at.
  3. I love easter eggs in a game, either minor references to previous titles or in the case of some remakes, acknowledging some glitches or exploits that were in the original installment = an example being in the Crash trilogy, where in the 3rd game, there was an exploit where running in a certain place let you escape all the lions the boss sent out to eat you, the remake keeps this exploit in but has the crowd throw cheese at you for doing it

1) probably not, TD games aren't usually my thing. However, I would make an exception for it if I won it.
2) Gordon Dickson's Dragon and the George series, Science fiction by David Weber, Robert Heinlein, and E.E. Doc Smith. JRR Tolkein's Lord of the Rings books.... (I could go on for a while here :) )
3) The amount of "realistic" graphics, and the level of detail in the scenery of games, especially if it can be made to look good without frying a mid-level graphics card. Also, choices that actually matter to the outcome.

  1. would do, i love TD games!
  2. I tend to recommend Deadly Premonition, which has admittedly a crap ton of issues, but was among the best gaming experiences i made i even had to fight with crying at the end, which was never the case definetely a hidden gem IMO.
  3. Not sure if it would count, but i love it when a game has Dragons and more importantly not seen as evil monsters yeah i'm a dragon lover 😜 that's what i especially liked about shadowrun: Dragonfall. 😀

Edit: hmm won't show as normal link for some reason. :/

  3. If a game has a good atmosphere I love it. if the soundtrack fits, even better. try Subnautica, my current favorite. :)
