Let's say you're looking to trade games with someone, and you have a list of titles that you can trade. If you plug that person's profile into compare2steam and load in your list, you can see what they have and don't have from what you're trading.

Really? It works fine for me. Maybe the problem is temporary? It says in the most recent update they had some problems with the domain. Maybe try contacting the site creator on Steam.

Well it worked for me. But don't see what kind of list I would use to compare to my steam library.

It's mostly used for trading. you can compare someone's list of games for trade to your library to see what games of them you don't already have. Very useful for someone like me with over 4k games when someone just posts a link to their thread asking "Anything from that list for game x?" I just paste the list and see if there's actually anything I don't already own, and then I only have a small list of games to check and see if they're of any interest to me.
You can also compare what you have to offer on trades with someone else's profile before making an offer.
