BTW, you seem to... "waste" a lot of money on this website, judging by your posts. Maybe you could get me a job as an IT admin too, if it makes you that much money. :P

EDIT: (Hope it's not considered begging :P lol)

It's never a waste if it makes you feel good. ;)

Edit: Therefor: hookers are not a waste.

Indeed! Hence the quotations. It was in the sense that most people don't have much money left in the end of the month or when they do, they don't spend too much with strangers...

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Let me tell you: Being rich sucks. Give every chance you get.

Honestly, I don't want to be rich. I just want to live comfortably. :P

Man, we better make a new thread for this conversation. ;)

Living comfortably is relative. I could be comfortable under a bridge in the right circumstances.

Right, we don't want to hijack this thread (kinda did).

And, yeah, philosophies... I agree. :P And I'm mostly being silly, don't worry. No need to create another thread, I guess. :P

I'm mostly being bored and drunk. I'll make a thread about Bic lighters and their influence on the Ming dynasty at this point.

You have to pay attention to compatibility with your motherboard. The processor your mentioned is socket 1155, but the ones oddllama mentioned are socket 1150.

So, just making sure, what socket does your motherboard support?

Sadly, you are not going to find any "great" deals on an 1155 these days (Have you priced EDO RAM lately?)

What are you currently using? That will help alot.

do you know if the Intel Core i5-3570K will be okay or do you have any other recommendation (has to be 1155)

Depending upon your options, it may turn out that you're better off upgrading your mobo. Just mentioning it as something to consider.

I am not sure what the going rate is on a 3570 at the moment, But I recall it being only slightly more than a 3470. TBH, the difference is damn near negligible though. Either one will pretty much triple your benchmarks. Within margin of a few hundred points at best. I'd probably go 3570 if you can find one priced within reason of the 3470.

Don't forget to observe any possible bottlenecks in your current build. the 2020 is a bit dated, and I would assume the rest of your hardware is as well. Your pipelines may get clogged in the tubes if your GPU is a bottleneck even after upgrading the CPU.

don't just look for motherboard/cpu compatibility, google if you can find benchmarks or reviews of both parts and see if they perform ok.
