less than 4.5 year on Steam, but for like a year I just had 1 game - bought a retail copy and it required steam so I created account for this one game only and didn't bother with any other games until sales 1 year later, so over 3.5 years of active Steam usage ;)

ok then - excluding Deus Ex: human Revolution which made me set up Steam Account it's been 3.5 years of games gathering ;) Thou over half of my library value comes from SG alone, not to mention all the bundles, free games promos, other GA sites, Russian Traders before region locks, GG price errors etc ;p

True. Still, the sale price is usually closer to what somebody actually spent on the library. Especially was before bundles became so widespread and people started to add many games just to farm cards for.
But yeah. I think my 2697/678 one is closer to 350-400 USD spent (then again, I have surprisingly few bundle games activated… almost all are HOGs).

nowadays there are simply to many ways to get games to be able to call actual cost of getting one's library ;) For me - I started using Steam seriously around 3.5 year ago - so it was already during Humble Bundle era and yeah - I got many of my games from bundles. But even more - nowadays we're getting "Free Game" promotion almost every other day - sure, a lot of them are repeats but I still manage to snag at least 1 new free game per week like that. And it's still not mentioning the fact that we're discussing this topic on Sg - site designed to get you free games - for me over half of my library value comes from SG alone not to mention other GA sites ;p
TL;DR Unless you run a spreadsheet following how much you paid for every single game in your library it's impossible to call actual money spent on lib nowadays ;p
