Used to for ~10 years. Left 2 years ago and came to Steam. Not sure if that was for the better or not. /shrug

If it didn't have a monthly fee I'd play it, I'm so busy that I would pay 12 months to play 10 hours. :(

Never played it... I like the lore and I loved the Warcraft games but multiplayer is not for me. Multiplayer games are too time consuming and I prefer my games to be singleplayer or to play locally with friends.
Sometimes I dabble in a little multiplayer but never commit myself to being more than casual.

Raided from classic to cataclysm but rsi got too bad and I had to give it up.

It can become very painful especially when you don't realise what it is for a few years.

Yeah, I'll confess: I started playing during BC, absolutely loved BC and WOTLK. And pretty much went on playing till cataclysm with some breaks inbetween.
Did some panda-stuff and such. Took a break for almost 2 years (barely touched WoD) and just returned a month ago for Legion.
It's changed a lot, lost a lot of its charm, but it's still fun in moderation :D

I've started at 2005 April (second batch of boxes here in Hungary), and I only left when I didn't have the money for the monthly fee... And I was the editor of WoW-Hungary for at least 6 years. So yeah... I like WoW.

I know, and I never was a moneymaker in the game... so usually I don't have that ~70k gold.

I quit WoW to start my Steam account... 'Nuff Said!

I played it for like 7 years - from Vanilla till early Cataclysm (quitted at release of Firelands), then quit totally as well as all other mmo games altogether.
I really do appreciate Story and Lore, but amount of time wasted on this game no longer compensates it for me. In time I played WoW I could play and finish dozens if not hundreds of single player games with great story and lore, so I will just read wowwiki rather than playing WoW itself ;p

It didn't help that I was in really competitive raiding guilds most of thew time, going for real firsts etc, all in all meaning 5-6 mandatory raid days, each 5-8h long per week. Add to that time I had to spend on dailies, repfarming, AH, trading etc and basically 95% of my free time was going to WoW.

Started playing in 2006, played some vanilla, tbc and most of wotlk, a month of cata/mop, 3-4 months of WoD and now a month of Legion. Now I'm hopefully done with the game for good, unless they release legacy servers. Legion is a huge disappointment to me, everything is an RNG grind to no end and alts are dead. Not digging it at all.

Started towards the end of vanilla but never got that into it, put literally thousands of hours into BC after hitting endgame and getting really into it, then quit at the end of BC after another raiding guild broke up and I couldn't be bothered to scratch around looking for another. That was enough for me, had some of my favourite gaming moments while playing so it was worth it.
In hindsight, kinda wish I mucked around for a little bit on alts until WotLK came out, then tried to jump back into raiding again. Ah well.
Tried a few MMOs after that but none had the same mix of polish and content.

After RuneScape I pretty much swore off the big MMOs forever. Too time consuming and grindy. So I've been pretty persistent on never giving WoW any chance, ever. :P
(Didn't stop me from playing TERA or Rusty Hearts but the former gets real stale real fast and the latter was smothered in the crib by its own developers so I wasn't too worried about ending up wasting a few years on them.)
There is also the fact that it has a (rather costly for me) monthly fee. Some of us aren't made of money, Blizzard.
