I wanted to trade Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon DLC with the members of this nice community and everybody freaked out when I said, that they will need Uplay to activate the game. Why? I have the steam version of this games and I neither open it without Uplay, so you will need Uplay if you want to play the game... People really that lazy, that they can't open Uplay, or what?

Some people have technical problems with uplay so they can't play even if they want to.

Like me. Blood Dragon (Steam), when UPlay opens, it insists I'm offline.

Got the games on PS3 to play them.

It is not about being lazy, at least for everyone. I do not play any Uplay games nor will I gift them. Just my personal boycott of Ubisoft.

Why do you boycott them? I know that they're giving their games a bit overpriced and they make buggy sh*ts but that what EA do too. And people still open Origin more than Uplay...

Origin is a decent client though

I think that's a bullsh*t. I have a lot of games from GOG, and Origin, and Uplay too, what I love more than half of my Steam games. I didn't think these games are worth less because I can't buy them on Steam.

They are LITERALLY worth less. Just compare the prices among platforms...

I don't think they worth less in any form. They are games too. Don't hate them. They will cry. :'(

But really, I don't get it why they're worth less. They can be played like Steam games can be played.

yes, you will encounter a lot of fanaticized users with steam that hate any other game client. :3

anyway, non-steam keys are usually less interesting for some since they want everything on steam.

SteamFanBoyZ Rule! :D It's really annoying, anyways. My game isn't worth that the same game on Steam, because it can only activated on Uplay... Man, people are really confusing sometimes... :O

got blood dragon on uplay and it works fine.
Also got Call of Juarez:TC with double DRM (uplay + steam) and playing this or even trying to start the game is f***ing nightmare.
Also double DRM toatally messed up achievements.

Many people (including me) will avoid double DRM.

But my game can only activated on Uplay. :O (Anyways, I played Far Cry and blood dragon, with double DRM and my achievements didn't messed and the game didn't crashed or something...)

It's not like i dont like uplay or Gog or other plataforms.
The problem is i want to open only a single plataform to play anything.
That's why i barely play my consoles to much problem to plug them into my tv... (Lazy as F) hahahaha.

And games on gog or uplay or drm free dont increase my steam library size....

You can add them as Non-Steam games, to your library... -_-

That doesn't increase his library size (game count).

But you can also not even bother to do that and just use Uplay all the time.

But that's not what people want. What you are willing to do does not necessarily reflect what they are willing to do.

Ah Uplay I had one encounter with it and now I don't purchase any games that use it anymore it's too much of a hassle.

Really? Erm... Then in the Trades, why I can see so many Origin and Uplay games?

Because no one wants to trade for them or use them themselves

Because trading isn't limited to just Steam, but gifts are. That means that the only place to do anything with Origin and Uplay stuff is in trades.

Nevertheless someone can be a very active trader and never want anything that is unrelated to Steam and that is reasonable.

Your complaint would have more weight if this was PCGameGifts, not SteamGifts.

People don't have to want to have anything to do with any other service for PC and that doesn't necessarily make them a Steam fanboy. Having to log into Uplay for a Steam game is excessive and a perfectly fine reason for someone to want to avoid Uplay games, especially if they've experienced or heard an anecdote about difficulting logging into Uplay.

Why I didn't have any difficulties when I tried to logging into Uplay? Why I didn't have any bugs or crashes or achievement messes neither? :/ Maybe the error is in my computer...
