I'm changing my vote because people keep ignoring the tools that have the answer they are looking for. Why search when you can just ask and have somebody else search for you? People try to be nice and help but they encourage this behavior, myself included.

Yes and not, 99% of popular bundles and mass GAs are added to barter, which take you 30 second to check, but when it's not added (some reddit / IG / forums GAs are not reported) it's okay to ask :)

There are 3 valuable resources linked that OP asked people to use before asking in this thread to prevent spam. I always start by searching on barter.vg because the giveaways and bundles are usually already documented there.

The thread is 2 years old. People often disregard links posted in the opening post of such threads due to them having a tendency to either be dead or outdated. The "spam" as you call it, is localised entirely within a single thread, which you can simply decide not to open if you have no need of the service it provides. While some will still start new threads to ask, this acts as a kind of magnet to the debris that would otherwise cause -actual- spam.
This all just feels like a bit of a "You just lost a customer!!" declaration, but I mean, your vote is yours to do with as you wish, and it's an open forum so the complaint is yours to make as you see fit, I guess?

I'm grateful that this thread consolidates some of the spam. At the same time, this thread would get spammed less if people searched first and asked second. I'm going to hide this thread moving forward which is just one less person to help, but other silent users may do the same and may have beaten me to it. I'm just the one willing to risk the backlash and say it out lout (and I did lose whitelists for doing so)

Eh, the list stuff does suck, but I suppose that's just steamgifts white/blacklists in a nutshell. Easy come, easy go.
Sometimes I get a seemingly random blacklist when I haven't even posted anything on the forums for two weeks. It doesn't bother me too much because whenever I get involved in the heated debate threads both my numbers start performing acrobatics. Fun times :p
