For these game cards no longer can be sold in market - trading still available.

So many games removed due to same reason in last weeks due to this.

I got burned by a developer like that. I like the comment that said remove greenlight. It definitely needs to be removed, it's heavily manipulated.

While I completely agree that Greenlight is being manipulated, what about developers that use it legitimately and really do produce good games? How would they be able to get a game on Steam without it? I'm not arguing the point so much as wanting to know the alternative.

There used to be a direct submission process, where Valve reviewed the applicant and quality gated publication. That needs to return.

Ouch. It probably would be better overall to do that, given the amount of garbage that comes from Greenlight, but that long response time is disgusting. =X Thanks for the clarification!

From the dev himself:

Hello community
Yes, I actually wrote a few reviews for Platformica in October 2016 and I'm really blame.
I’m worked 2 years on my three games and.....half day...games removed
I deserve it

Wow, that's a surprisingly adult way to deal with it. (Unlike some other devs for example the one from Guardians of Orion & ORION: Prelude)

Regardless of what I think of devs manipulating reviews for their own games I have to give him some credit for that.

Comment has been collapsed.

Darkbase 01 comes to mind as a counter comparison (the dev threw a fit and uploaded vulgar screenshots to the store page when people posted negative reviews, leading to the game's removal).

Yeah, a lot of small devs that don't have a PR department (and even some bigger ones like Phil Fish) do stuff like that, that's why I thought it was worth mentioning. The Orion lead dev had to ban himself from his own Steam Community forums because he couldn't refrain from insulting everthing and everyone :D

Unmarketable cards. Have they finally started rolling this out to cards for other removed games? Are they finally closing Digital Homicide's profit loophole?

EDIT: Still marketable for now, but a rumor on some trading subreddits is that this goes Steam-wide in February to close the loophole, but I can't find a primary source for the information.

These are only games to have unmarketable cards.

Turns out they were right. Digital Suicide's library was completely stripped, among others. All games removed due to violation or due to "Valve ceasing business relations" are to be delisted.

Perfect reason. Digital Homicide, the company booted from Steam for attempting to sue users over negative reviews against their asset flip games, gives away millions of remaining game keys to continue generating profit from card sales. Stopping them is reason enough.

I know but I was willing to give it a try as long as they would have accepted PayPal. I mean what can go wrong as long as I use PayPal wallet. And even if I would have used PayPal direct debit PayPal will never pass my information to the seller, right ?
As far as I know that's partly the point of PayPal.

true - might have even tried it myself if paypal was an option on the full thing - or even like DIG - load points onto system using paypal - but not gonna stick my CC in there without knowing much more about it :)

Ended up trying one bundle (B Boss Bundle)

18 games for $1.88 after their paypal fees. (and 12 extras)

Got keys instantly

Let's see when they are revoked

Bought one custom bundle today; Paid with bitcoins; more exactly, I exchanged 1 csgo key for bitcoins on one of those automated trading bots, and then bought the bundle; so basically I paid with steam wallet, just with a bit of fees ^_^
There is ~30 cents fee for buying custom bundle via bitcoins.
Among mentioned games, also is available Landfill which is today removed.
Prices look good, they are the same more or less like they were on DIG store when they started.

Yeah, that was the 3rd one I've heard of before beside the obvious VISA and Mastercard. I could just never bring myself to create an account for that (or Bitcoins) because I already have like a gazillion different accounts and don't want to create a new one for something I might just use once.

Yep. Though they really could set a minimum length (like.. 100 characters?) for reviews - having one word, or just a period as a negative review is just a slap to their system as well

Could also implement content detection (character repetition, etc.). The "review doge" meme would get past a character limit yet be just as meaningless.

That's all well and good, but it punishes the people that have the cards, and want to try and complete the Badges for it. I don't trade (15 day hold puts a kibash on that), so that pretty much sucks for me (and people like me).

What Valve should do is make the cards still available to buy/sell on the Market, but remove the Developer(s) from getting a cut from the cards being sold. That way it would benefit both Valve and the paying customers.
