You mean to tell me they are still asking money for that thing?

"It's buggy, badly optimized" - that changed years ago
"clearly worse than GTA V" .... I dunno. Both games were overhyped beyond reason, except GTAV's hype didn't backfire, despite not being special in any way shape or form. It looks pretty, it's moddable, but the game itself isn't anything to write about.

What are your specs? I ran WD1 with an i3-540 and a 460GTX above 60fps at 1080p resolution.
GTAV close to masterpiece? I'm not the one who is delusional. How is it close to a masterpiece?

Well then you fcked something up with your software.
"I'll let you figure out the other question" is another way of saying "I actually have no idea". You got swept up with the hype and you don't even know why.

I also suffered from worse framerate in Watch_dogs than in GTA V. That is, until I applied the fan-patch that made the game look better but that Ubisoft says will make the game run worse. After applying it, they were about on par in terms of framerate, but I did still get a bit more micro-stuttering in Watch_dogs.

Watch Dogs 2 is the same game but better- though it also has EasyAntiCheat enabled for it, so there's that.

i enjoyed it a lot i think the bad opinions are not based on the game is crap its rather they advertised it wrong promised a better visuals than they delivered and also i didnt bought it on the first days of release but poeple who did was a bad port then, If you like the idea of a gta like game with hacking go for it

Yes, it's a worthwhile game. 90% of criticism is not noticeable if you didn't watch the marketing material. On it's own, it's a fairly good open-world game with a neat twist, well above average. Sure, the main character isn't likeable (not that he's supposed to be) nor a real hacker (he's a gun for hire who learned a few tricks from his partner in crime), but the game itself is both fun and interesting.
The second one is much better, too

Save your money for something better. Watchdogs was the biggest disappointment. If it didn't come with my video card, I'd have NEVER paid for it. One of the WORST and poorly optimized games out there.

Sorry to break it to you, but even the $1 tier bundle is too much for that game. They should be paying US to play it.

So much hate... besides pre-release hype that fizzled out when consoles weren't powerful enough to run the game at the settings shown at E3 (PC can, and these settings exist in-game! Just hidden, but available) and the game was downgraded graphically, what's so terrible about Watch_Dogs 1?

It isn't a bad game for that price but remember that it isn't worth all the hype there was before the launch. The 'hacking' gives funny moments when roaming the city but gets kind of old fast since all you do is press one button. Some missions are fun (I enjoyed the bounty hunting missions and the DLC character quite much + messing with others in mp is quite fun) but felt kind of sad since there weren't much to customize the character (all clothes are almost the same, there aren't really much to choose when picking up guns and you get the best ones quite easily. Also you don't need to choose which skills to upgrade since you get them all in the end) and there are multiple missions (in side mission especially) which feel quite the same after completing one.
I actually thought about playing through it second time lately (completed it some time after launch) but maybe I leave some of the side missions alone this time!

That doesn"t mean you don't need to choose. It can make a huge difference if you can get a certain skill early on instead of late in the game (I'm not sure how the skill tree looks in watch dogs though).

I don't have it on steam, I picked it up for 3 or 4€ in a game store a while back. That's about what it's worth. It's a generic ubiworld game, and if you've played some of their other open world games, you'll know what to expect. The game is buggy, fully patched, and has performance issues, and the main character is just boring. But causing random mayhem with your hacking is kinda neat. When the game dares to commit to its strange hacking, and allows you to use it in creative ways, it's fun, but when the level designers thinks that you should play it like a bog standard 3rd person shooter, it's kinda bland and uninspired.

Is it as bad, as they all say? I mean, it's for about 9 euros on Steam, still too much?
