Are you saying that only one character is in the right place and we have to brute force the order of the rest of the characters without knowing which one is already in the correct spot? I think that is 120 possible combinations. There has to be something else, but I don't see it.

Thanks for the hint and for saying what game is being given away. It is not my type of game, but I still tried to solve it and managed to get it right on the first try after reading this :)
