Just nabbed them myself (although I already had one)

Although I got games by them, there website is most times overwhelm or I get 500 Internal Error. I will try at 01:00 by me. Thanks for the heads up :-)

While CDPR is great, they aren't responsible for this. It's Interplay you have to thank. They are losing the rights to the older Fallout games in a couple weeks and don't stand to make any more money off it, so why not give it away for free and look like the good guy?
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, I believe they are. The very same pack is NOT for free on Steam.
It's 75% off, not entirely free like on GOG, so clearly CDPR pulled this.
Edit: And as far as I can tell, not for free anywhere else but GOG. A quick google search didn't bring up anything recent but GOG's offer.

"It's not like CDPR is giving away the games for free"
But of course, they do. They give them away for free. We don't pay a single cent.
Their costs for bandwidth or anything alike isn't our concern.
And I gladly let them have their promo for these amazing games.

Should probably change title to GOG rather than GMG. Still, nice promo

Yes, because free from an illegal source where you can't trust what you download is better than free from a trusted authorized source.
/rolleyes
mumbles something about people wondering how so many infected machines are on the net

Those aren't from torrents. Those are from freesteamcodes, org and believemethisislegit, org etc...
Actually there are a lot of trustworthy torrent communities, where people go to try products out, and some of them do buy it if they are satisfied with it.
As "harmful" as it is, it sells a lot of copies, and without those online sources you would have to get real copys of those products (also illegally), but if you have to buy an illegal copy even for a low price you would not buy the legal one for more.
Comment has been collapsed.
This is buying legal copies for free, so there is no point to getting a torrent for them. Given that neither of the sites you mention come up as valid or have Google search results that doesn't lend a lot of credence to them being legit or safe torrent sources either (yes, I replaced the commas and tried various TLDs).
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, so because those games are legitimately free on GOG; it is OK to obtain them illegally?
Just because a game or deal is not on Steam they do get mentioned and are allowed in this forum.
My understanding is that the promotion of piracy, though, is not allowed.

IMA GUNNA CAPSLOCK YOU TO DEATH!!!11
Seriously though, F1 and F2 are anything but crappy. They are brilliant in terms of gameplay, story and actual ROLEPLAY. Also, they have TONS of gore - that's rare nowadays =)
Basically, people only can call Fallouts crappy if they've never played them for more than a couple of hours.

I (and others too) understood that as an insult on a beloved game. It's just as pleasing as calling your beloved Counter-Strike a muddy ugly no-brain clicker. There is a reason people love these games, and get angry from these kinds of words.
Anyway, to each his own. You like CS - great, continue doing that. And we, old farts, will continue praising our beloved games =)

I played Fallout 1 & 2 a few years ago before I got my gaming computer and I gotta say that they were both awesome, Fallout 2 was a little better IMO.
At first when I tried Fallout 1, I thought it sucked because I didn't know where to go but after playing for a few hours I started to like it.

They both are great. Thought out, created with love and caring. With great backstory, which you uncover bit by bit, great music to aid your adventures, and simply gorgeous companions (Marcus, anyone? :)).
First one was more like a test of audience interest, but nevertheless it is quite enjoyable too, especially when you are drawn into the story, couple hours in ;)

I have something to tell you... with that fucking attitude, you will not last much on this forum. Hell, I would bet that you will be banned today. They do not take too well to people "promoting" piracy here.
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually, if you actually spend around 2 minutes googling it, you will find that the statement you just made is incorrect.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thats not how it works bro. Just because its illegal does not mean that everyone who does it gets arrested. They would have to have a crazy gigantic police force to be able to do that.
Hell, using your point of view, if someone did something illegal and got away with it, then its not illegal anymore! Theft, murder and rape, all would be legal just because someone got away with it!(can you spot the flaw argument just yet or do I need to explain it further?)
It is illegal, and you really should research your own country's law before spouting baseless bullshit.
Comment has been collapsed.
You do know what the word "illegal" means, right?
Comment has been collapsed.
Sometimes logic does not work. Some people are immune to it.
Comment has been collapsed.
And just because a lot of people break a law and get away with it, that makes it legal?
LOL
I would love to see a court case with that as a defense!

I live in Eastern Europe (Hungary), and I think he's right, and you are very, very wrong.
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually he's right that torrent trackers are legal. BitTorrent as a technology is 100% legal and trackers only point to users with the files. The content transfered between users can be illegal, but the technology isn't. A torrent file is also 100% legal since it only contains metadata and no actual copyrighted material.
Comment has been collapsed.
We all know that - many games are distributed through torrent (mostly MMOs).
Comment has been collapsed.
Obviously those are not actual sites, what I'm implying is that the people who are easily tricked into visiting sitets that are infected with malicious software are usually falling for website names that state their purpose /which is in most cases something beeing free, or pr0n, or things like that/, like: codhack4free,org steamwalletcodes, org . You know, things like that.
Also I'm not saying that torrenting this paticual game is OK, what I'm saying is that the -illegal- concept of torrent is part of the marketing of a game.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're amazing. Teach me how to be like you. Thinking about pirating something that's free.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wait, do people steal things on eastern europe when they can get all they want for free on a legit manner?
That makes no fucking sense at all.
Comment has been collapsed.
So there's no connection between eastern europe and pirating free stuff at all and you're just an idiot, right?
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't live in Europe, but it is my impression from the net and elsewhere that the rest of Europe (West) considers people there to be low-lifes, for reasons such as this.
We are much more notorious for this kind of activity where I live, and much of the rest of Asia looks down on the people here too.

Haven't played them in years. Great games and the fact that they're free makes it better. Love these guys. First they offer fair refunds and then they do this? I wanna know what they've been smoking.

I wish everything was on GOG. Such good people there.
Thanks for the heads up, had all but Fallout 2 but still good deal.
Nice of them to give away Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics for free.
Comment has been collapsed.
You know you shouldn't thank GOG for it, but more thank the publishers who allowed it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Probably, but it is usually the GOG team asking and pushing developers and publishers for good deals.
I would bet money Steam could get similar deals if they so chose, but they've gotten so big they don't seem to care to push for the best deals anymore.
Comment has been collapsed.
Steam understandably doesn't do it because such type of things are really great for promotion, and Steam doesn't really need any more promotion. Also they would lose money on that because of the 30% cut they usually get.

Clicky.They're having a winter sale.
[EDIT] Qoute from zimmer550:
This is your last chance to get the original Fallout games, DRM free. Bethesda won in court the publishing rights for the old Fallout games and asked GOG to remove the games from the shop. As a result we have this massive GA as a big FU for Bethesda. The old Fallout games might remain for sale on Steam, with the Steam activation, but won't remain available for sale on GOG ( DRM free ).
And no: the old games don't have achievements or cards:P
So get this chance to add to your collection a version that doesn't require an activation, serial number and such. Games bought ( gifted ) before rights reverting to Bethesda will remain in your account.
[SECOND EDIT] Another quote from zimmer550:
One more thing to know about the GOG versions: those versions are working fine on modern operating systems starting from win XP and ending with Win 8.1 ( original games were released for DOS/win95/win98 ). Steam version has some issues with the modern systems. So the GOG version is the ultimate version for the old Fallout games. Also do not forget to pick the
Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 from NMA-Fallout- something to add after you play at least once vanilla Fo2.
