quick question why are you getting 125 cc?
I currently ride 250cc -http://www.sagmart.com/other_images/Hyosung-GD250N.jpg
after being 3 months on this bike I said to my self damn I need stronger bike.
But if your license limits you to 125cc you should also check Ktm duke 190 or one of the bikes aprillia has

I agree with getting whatever is cheapest or something that is used or old. If you're just going to get something bigger in two years anyways you might as well save some money. The money you save can be put to use buying nice riding gear. I've never owned a vehicle that was younger than myself and have to say the older something is the more compliments you get from strangers. I ride vintage mopeds and motorcycles and they are completely different riding styles. If you're in the city or on small streets mopeds actually tend to be faster plus you don't have to worry about shifting all the time too.
Is the 125CC limit just for 4 strokes or do 2 strokes have the same limit? A 125cc two stroke will be much faster than it's 4 stroke counterpart.

My current bikes:
1974 Suzuki TC100 (Daily Rider)
1975 Suzuki RL250
1979 Minarelli Baretta 44
197? Honda Hobbit
197? Motomarina Sebring

I know 125cc 2 strokes are faster as proven with aprillias but im not that bothered about speed so 4 stroke is fine for me. Im also not sure if i will upgrade when 19 but if i do i have a 250cc lambretta chopper which i can ride so thats sorted.

i would suggest wait some years if your age or licence whatever isn't suitable and buy 250cc models. in next years, even 250cc will be unsatisfying in power.

All looks cool and enjoy your ride...

But be sure to take necessary precautions such as choosing a cool motorcycle helmet too. You maybe the best driver in the world but while on traffic your life is as safe as the driving ability of others since you all share the road. I lost a friend over this because he refused to wear the helmet when the other driver hit him.

Also consider usage such as city ride vs racing types since their sit style is different.

Already got a good helmet got an AGV which costed me £150. i know the risks and even on my moped i still wear all the proper gear.

While you are shopping around you might ask the dealers if they have heard of an engine designer that if their tech were scaled down for use in bikes it seems like it would cut drastically on weight and make them even more efficient:

One day I'll understand why people ask every sort of thing that has nothing to do with the site here...

I wouldn't take gamers' opinions very higly on any matter that is not games =)
