I am really tempted for MT-125 but still a hard decision.

I have this http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2008models/2008models-Suzuki-GSX650F3.jpg but, If I have to select one of your 3 models, I prefer KTM.

Nice bike but too big of an engine and at 17 u can only ride 125cc.
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly. Most A1 bikes will put out max 15hp so it wont matter that much which one you choose.
Btw there are many more 125s like the Aprilia RVS4 125.

Ik i have looked at others but these 3 are my fav i dont really like aprilias.

At least in the US, Aprilia parts support is terrible. Owners often have to wait for months on replacement part orders, totally removing their bikes from consideration for a daily driver.
I'm very much in favor of ABS. If the Yamaha has it, as Waxlor noted, that's +10 to survivability in one checkbox. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Im in UK so i dont know if we have that problem but aprilias dont really take my fancy and their prices for them are fucking expensive.

btw ABS is only good if you panic and just squeeze your brakes and it prevents your tires from locking.
but if you look at brake distance you can brake a lot quicker without abs.
what I really suggest is investing some money in advanced riding courses.
personally I fell few times because I did some rookie mistakes and those falls could be prevented if I had a course or two

I know what abs does and its still go to have and ill take a look into some classes. But everyone falls only natural.

Aye in the uk its like this, 50CC 16, 125CC 17, 250CC, 19 and after a few years of riding with A2 license u can then ride whatever you want or wait till your 22-24.
Comment has been collapsed.
We have different system A2 - 14.6 HP, A1 - 47.46 HP, A - no limit
for A2 you must be at least 16 years old 18 for A1 and for A you must be 21 and have A1 license for minimum a year .
Anyhow I am not a big fan of sport bikes and prefer naked ones for my vote is yamaha

btw from personal experience and heard the exact same thing from lots of people, after few months you will want more power and more speed.
so if you would like to upgrade you bike ride a bit with your 125cc and when you reach 19 get a 600 or more it will save you some money.
I am saving now for aprillia shiver 750 or yahama mt7 which is 700 cc

At 17 I had a Yamaha TZR-50 (https://www.bikepics.com/pics/2004%5C06%5C10%5Cbikepics-163211-full.jpg), Here with 17 you only can drive 50cc
Enjoy it and drive safe.

Here in Uk at 16 u can only ride 50cc, 17 125cc, 19 250cc and 22 or 24 and other any size bike. Those are really nice bikes for 50ccs anyway.

Do you have lots of previous experience, or do you have a fresh license and getting your very first motorcycle?
If it will be your first bike, and you're a beginner, I would say get one that's cheap (preferably second hand) and has as little plastic as possible. You're very much more likely to do stupid mistakes with your first bike, so it would be sad to crack some expensive fairings the first time you don't get the side stand down properly when leaving the bike, or anything similar. If you got a cheap used bike, you just pick it up and learn from your mistakes.
From those three, I would go for the MT-125 for the above reasons.
I'm on my 8:th motorcycle, still haven't bought a brand new one :)

I ride a moped at the moment (cries inside) so i have that experience but before i got that i got a shitty chinese bike with gears on that so i have a little bit of experience but not much. Nice what bike u riding atm?

I have two of them:
Suzuki SV650N (first generation) that I use for track days
BMW F650CS for everyday use (good ergonomics, low fuel consumption, chain free drive, and actually surprisingly fun thanks to low weight and low centre of gravity and just enough power to make it interesting on twisty roads).

BMW looks really nice and all the MTs are light bikes so they are a nice style of bike and i am tempted to go for it.

For everyday driving probably the Yamaha. The others look to racer-wannabe to me (riding position). My gut feeling is KTM parts etc. will be expensive. Their bikes tend to be overrated, much like italian ones where you pay more for their name.
However, you'll have to try them and see which one fits your body and makes you feel secure. It's no use weighing up all technical data etc and ending up trying to ride a bike which doesn't make you feel good.
Just curious, are you buying brand new? Why? No good 1-2 year old ones there or other reasons?
Comment has been collapsed.
I think i may buy brand new mainly because its a new bike no one has used it fucked around with it and it comes with all the benifits but then i do think about buying second hand because it maybe easier for someone who had 2 months use of chinese gears and all that so ill figure it out closer to the time.

Well, get your licence first then go spend a lot of time test driving them. Maybe you'll prefer a more upright riding position then a racer type.
Or vice versa. Depends on what you're going to use it for. Just fun or daily commutes to work. Will you need a topcase or such to take your stuff with you etc.
Probably more important is finding a dealer where you're taken seriously as a customer, potentially a loyal one and not just another number for the books.

I have my cbt which allows me to ride 50ccs and 125cc, i could do my next license which allows me on motorways and L plates off but i dont wanna pay for that so im gonna wait till 19. The bike will be used mainly for my commutes to work and a few motorbike rallys i do. For my rallys im thinking of a luggage rack for a luggage bag.
Finding a good dealer is also important i agree with you there.

It's been a while since I owned a motorbike. I think I'd maybe go for the KTM myself but the MT-125 is probably really practical for a relative beginner.

I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper to maintain. Almost certainly a lot cheaper if you have any accidents. Used parts will be easier to get as well as third party stuff. And I doubt you would notice any difference in performance (I'm not even sure I would). I'm not a fan of Honda, but I can't truthfully say it would be a bad bike. But if you are asking for opinions I'd vote for the MT-125.

Fair enough dude thanks for it the MT seems to be really popular.

Wow, didn't see that. It's trickled down to 125ccm. ABS is a potential life-saver, especially in "sunny" UK :D

Im not trying to change your mind. If you really want to buy motrocycle then buy one. But when you are buying very powerful bike i highly doubt that you are going to obey the road limits. In my small driving expirence (2 years) i've never seen any biker to follow the road rules (except the scooters in the city). Also when you are driving witch over the limit speed there is a chance of a car to not see you coming. There is so many situations that can happend.Im not saying that if you are driving a car you are completely safe. But still.....

you wont put me off with that and honestly i see loads of bikers who stick to the limit in towns and citys so maybe its different over there for you and something could happen to me on the road but its the same for anyone no matter what your driving.

Thats what it tends to be, motorbikes in my country seem to be alright apart from the idiot kids that go riding around without any gear on swerving around and reving their engines at the lights XD.

they maybe that but thats the fun of it and those game will be the death of me.

Why would you buy brand new for your first bike? From what I read of your past experience you have no actual past experience. What you need is some 700GBP-1000GBP piece of crap you can find online to actually learn how to ride. You will fall. If you think you wont your fall will be worse. You want to fall on a shitty bike you don't care about not on a new shiny bike you don't even know how to ride. Also you will want to upgrade as soon as you can so there is no point in buying a new 125cc bike when next year you will want another new more powerful bike. YOU WILL FALL. Get over it. We all did and some of us still do... YOU WILL FALL. Did I say that YOU WILL FALL? Helmets and leathers are for riders, not wearing them is for idiots. You know why? BECAUSE YOU WILL FALL..

Why would i want to ride a shitty bike when i could get a nice one, never said i was buying new those links are links to tha bikes. Secondly i have a years of experience riding a Chinese shitty bike + a nice little moped which takes me to work 5/7 days a week. So i may not have experince in gears and all that shit but thats the point of learning. Also in a year i wont be able to get a bigger one i have to wait till im 19 to get a 250cc. Yes i am gonna fall and im gonna laugh about it, it happens what should i buy a shitty helmet as well coz im gonna fall and break it?
Comment has been collapsed.
That's right you're 17 you know it all already. "I know how to ride because I ride a moped" lol... Good luck getting fucked.

Fuck me dude i dont know it all, but i know i dont want to buy a shitty bike again. If your just gonna be rude then dont bother posting again i do have better things to do then but up with rude people like u.

There's only one option really - go with KTM. Here's what I got. Enjoy!

I don't know anything about motor bikes, but as for new vs. used, I'd say go used. You can get a nice bike for less money and not be as upset if it gets scratched/dinged/damaged. Then get yourself a good set of tools and learn how to work on it yourself.

Also i know nothing about motorbikes but the yamaha one looks the coolest
