Title says it all, it would also be better if the site has a wide range of songs and must have most classic rock songs.

Just use streaming, Luddite!
I'm old school, so I DL music

In my opinion why not download music straight from youtube? There's various sites that can convert video audio of youtube video to mp3 so just got to find it on youtube and done you got a your songs downloaded.

Just use the torrents. You can use it for legal free content too, not only for pirating things.

Depends on your music interest, I like some of the songs that get posted and released for free on this site: Otodayo.

Jamendo - I found quite a lot of music here, but I haven't used the site for a long time, looks like it has changed a lot.

I guess you failed to read the question. OP is asking for music that is free, probably so it can be used somewhere. Not music that can be listened to free.

I did read. But it's obious that you won't find anything for free that is well known. And if you look for various uknnown artists or specified genre then google is the best way + social networks. And from what I see now, not only me meant YT. There were also comments about torrents etc.

Well you can find free music that you can use for your projects on internet, I have done so in the past. But yes, you can find stuff like this on YT as well, but in my experience, it is very rare, at least for music that you can use on some project.

Amazon has a great deal of Classic rock albums for 5$ a piece if you do not mind paying for them.

No, you probably won't find big-name artists there, so "must have most classic rock songs." is probably not going to happen.
But it's free, safe & legal

Some artist let you download songs on Soundcloud. Some artists also use the pay-what-you-want model on Bandcamp and you don't have to pay anything if you don't want to.

A Finnish site called Mikseri has free music from very small artists, but site is only in Finnish.

There's also PromoBay where the artists let you download some of their stuff for free.
