Ok, so I was saving money for the Steam summer sale, but I tested the GOG Galaxy beta recently and then the summer sale happened and then the developers of Wasteland 2 and Divinity Original Sin said that if you own the game before they release the "Enhanced edition" and the "GOTY edition" of those games, you will get them for free. So yeah this is the list of games I bought:

The Bard's Tale
Beyond Good and Evil
Blitzkrieg Anthology
Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology
Crusader Kings Complete
Divinity Original Sin
Dreamfall Chapter The Longest Journey
Telltale The Game of Thrones
Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition
Jade Empire Special Edition
Jagged Alliance 2
Legend Of Grimrock 2
The Longest Journey
Nox
Rise of the Triad (2013)
Risen
Risen 2 Dark Waters Gold Edition
Rune Classic
Shadow Warrior
Vampire The Masquerade Redemption
Wasteland 2

Plus Sim City 2000, STALKER Clear Sky, Battle Realms and Xenonauts that I got for free.

So yeah now I have no money left for the Steam summer sale. Life is hard.

Here is the GOG key for STALKER Clear Sky, I already own it so I will gift it, maybe someone still don't have the game yet, and I hope someone enjoy it: HT891254720821

Did you buy any game at the GOG summer sale?

I am a Steam fanboy/girl/hermaphrodite

Didn't get anything from them, but I did get that free game earlier today. I'm excited to see how their Galaxy client works out, I haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet. Is it any good?

Its still a baby, but its growing very nicely. It lacks some fundamental features tho, so I recommend you to wait a little bit more if you want to test it at his full potential, they will add them soon.

No problem!, since that game was free some months ago I thought everyone have it by now. My plan was to buy the Final Fantasy Franchise at steam summer sale but well, I will wait one more year.

I used all the money on my paypal, my debit card, off my G2A wallet, and even on my stepdad's business debit card. I'm more than broke.

You have 2 days before the summer sale starts to sell your soul.

Nah I don't buy games off steam. =P I only need to sell my soul if the GoG sale continues.

I too spent my $50 and earned Xenonauts. I think I cut my wishlist down from one and a half pages to only one page.

Same here...well not exactly the same since I have 307 games in my wishlist but at least I removed a lot with GOG purchases.

Those are some pretty good picks. So far I've went with Wasteland 2(+Wasteland 1), Divinity Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity, Shadowrun Dragonfall, and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.

I'm still considering getting Legend of Grimrock 2, Ascendant and Wolf Among Us. I'm also quite interested in Dead State but after reading some reviews I'm not too sure about it. If anyone had a pleasant experience with this one please enlighten me :P

Now that I've seen your list, I'm also interested in Nox and Vampire The Masquerade Redemption, dang it. I don't know what to do with my money right now XD

I have Dead State wishlisted at Steam I think, but I also have read the reviews so I never bought it. I will try to sell some things to get Planescape Torment, and the Baldur's Gate games.

Trying to decide if I want the D&D Enhanced games. Anybody think they're worth it at $8 per? Already got the originals. Other than that, spent $12 and got $23 in the cart...

Yes they are. Or no they're not. It depends on which users you ask and many have a strong opinion. I consider them worth the cost.

Yeah, I've read a lot of that debate. Think I'm gonna wait this time. Enough backlog already and I'd like a couple $ left for Steam :)

GOG pricing is garbage, Steam is much better for me.

So no, not a single dime spent on GOG. Lord Gaben will get all my monies.

All their libraries do exist on Steam as well, nothing is GOG exclusive except some old games.

Yeah man...sure...so can you tell me why I bought Divinity Original Sin for $7? Wasteland 2 for $5 bucks? Legend of Grimrock 2 for $2.09? And I preordered The Witcher 3 for 13.99? hahahaha GTFO ;)

Ukraine prices, no region restrictions because DRM-free ;)

Do you live in Ukraine or do you use something like Hola to mask your IP adress?

I don't use Hola anymore, and I don't live in Ukraine so I changed my IP as you said just with another VPN.

I wonder, is it possible for them to detect you're doing that to get cheaper games, and could that potentially lead to closing down your account or something?

It would be irresponsible from my part to say anything about it, since I don't know any official information about it so its up to each person to make a choice here. I never had a problem before with this method but I can't speak for everyone

I see, I find it curious because, as far as I'm aware Steam is against this type of practices, as it was clearly seen after implementing region locks on all games and making marketplace items have a 7 day block upon purchase.
Still, for better or worse, I guess that can't be done on GOG because, like you said it yourself, there's no region lock and every single game is DRM-Free.

Thank you for opening up!

Says the guy who post a lot supporting and recommending piracy... poor pal. The definition of hypocrisy, right here with this guy.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Of course. Piracy is a must. I will always advocate it as long as demos are not available for each and every games. And yes, I have 1900 games. You? If I'm poor then you are thousand times poorer. Talking to you is a... disgrace.

Hint: I have bunch of games in your wishlist.

Just know yourself before talking. Simple logic, really. But ah, you don't have that logic.

Thanks for accepting your hypocrisy, that is the first step. And I didn't mean poor from an economic perspective, it was from an emotional one. Your reading comprehension needs to improve man. Have a nice day and if you think that talking with me is a disgrace there is a simple solution for that, stop replying. Cheers!

Right, so you're going to be an arrogant little prick like always. I already know nothing is going to get through your head so I'll just sit back and watch the hilarious 'argument' because everybody knows the internet is totally srs bsns bruh.

Also, yeah, you started the 'argument' with, and I quote (unless you delete(ed) and/or change(ed) the comment) "Lowlife scum much? Lol masking identity with VPN." That comment is literally irrelevant to this thread and is blatantly obvious evidence of you being instigative.

Anyways, yeah. Back to not caring.

I signed up for GOG a while ago, especially for Divinity Original Sin, but I still didn't like the price during their summer sale, it was like 40% off and around 26€ while it was down to 24€ during the last holiday sale on Steam and when it's available for less than 20€ any day from a reseller. Or did I miss some special price?

Developer listens to gamers and makes DRM free games. Gamers screw them over by playing the system.

Better than simply pirate the game, but I will not justify myself and I will not hide what I said, I used VPN and I will not argue about it.

I had 2 games on my WL from GOG and bought them already : Banished and Sea Dogs . Apart from that I doubt I will end up getting any other game this sale .. maybe Star Wars ones if they come up ... but well ... if you end up playing the games, money well spent.

You, sir, have pretty good taste in games, IMO.
I bought The Bard's Tale (since I'm supporting their KS and never played the originals).
And I bought Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut because it was on sale and I didn't want to worry about trying to get 60 achievements. Bleh.

Bought a few i'd wager a look: Banished, SmugglersV (feels crappy, thinking of returning it), Trine (err err i already gotten that through a humble bundle and rebought it - might be mental insanity as i wanted to complete series on gog), SaintsRow 3, Shadowrun returns: DF and 2 classics which i didn't notice earlier.

Still pondering getting Age of Wonders 3 & ShadowWarrior remake
