Does anybody knows about like an alarm or reminder Windows App? I want to avoid these kind of health problems and doctors recommend taking breaks and stand up and walk every X amount of time, but when I playing a game (specially RPGs) or do other stuff I totally forgot about the time.
So if anyone knows a good app, will be appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear that but I wouldn't say that too much gaming lead to that. It is widely known that you should stand up and move around every 1-2 hours because sitting in one position for many hours is not healthy. This further proves it. I hope everyone starts to do that if they don't already do.

Sounds like a boss from The Binding of Isaac, or another one of Edmund McMillan's games

I hate it when I can't find the video I'm looking for...the title of this thread reminded me of a clip (vine?) I saw of a teen being seen by a nurse, and she says something about him having a wee (pee, piss, urination etc) and he says "No, an XBox"...

You know, you could stand and game! Then again, it's a lot more uncomfortable........and there's a risk of getting varicose veins too!
Damned if you stand, damned if you sit! :(

I suffered from a pilonidal sinus too, about 10 years ago. While it is some kind of basic and easy to cure thing, I remember it was really, really painful. For me, pain was much more easy to deal with after surgery, I'd say on a scale of 10 I went from 10 to 3, then 0/1 after 2 weeks or so.
By the way, too much sitting is one of the possible causes of that, but there are others. When I got that, it was clearly not the period of my life where I spent the more time sitting :)

Where is the option "All of the above."?
Yeah, I know gaming and using the computer too much without any sports will eventually lead to health and mental problems... but it's what I do and the only way things will ever be for me so I'm pretty much resigned to the inevitable (the health one that is, I'm already so messed up that any mental problems may as well be cherry topping). Definitely do not expect to win the Olympics and live for 100 years while being a video game addicted programmer. :P
Anyway, about your original post... ouch... sorry to hear that. :/
Get better...

Hello Community,
Because of too much gaming i just had a surgery of my lower right hip and mid-line.
I was suffering from Pilonidal Sinus, a disease caused by too much sitting in one position for XX number of hours.
Yes, the surgery was very painful although they gave me spinal anesthesia, but later it was too much painful.
I was on pain killers for like a week and will not be able to sit and walk properly for at least 1 more month.
I go to the hospital for daily dressing of my wounds and YES, dressing is the most scary and painful of these all.
Thanks for listening to my story.
