lol being honest here, if your life would be boring, then that means gaming brings you the most ultimate entertainment? right? well for me it doesnt. sometimes i feel like i "fight" myself to want to game. its weird.

If I wasn't a gamer, I'd probably invest my time in all that other stuff I want to do. If I put in all the game time I had now into making money, I'd be pretty wealthy.

Exactly the same as it is now but doing productive things (reading, playing my instruments, etc.) more often in place of gaming.

This thread is already a bit sad. They're just games.

I'd draw more. Games are not my biggest thing in life, fortunately. I play them, occasionally, 10 hours on Steam in the past 2 weeks. I don't get how people can spend several hours a day playing, it's a waste of time. Entertaining, but a waste since all that time is sunk into... nothing, basically. It's a hobby that doesn't 'gain' anything in real life, and that is why so many have a problem with it. That is also why I'm kind of afraid of games :D. Play 100 hours guitar, and you develop a skill that is relevant in 10 years. Do sports for 100s of hours and look athletic. Play WoW 100s of hours and gain.... nothing D:

I went off topic :D

I have been known to burn several hours by staring at the wall or at the sky with no purpose whatsoever so I would probably do more of that.

Lets say you didn't game for 5 years.

I'd have to avoid surfing the Internet (since most large sites - including news publications - use some form of gamification). I'd have to avoid watching TV lest I be roped into some mobile or social video game equivalent. I'd have to deem playing games with friends an off-limits activity (board/dice & card excluded).

Let's suppose that the future of multimedia almost always involves gamification. No TV. (Cross-platform mobile/media promotions - and if future TVs are to have Kinect-like technology built in, everything will be gamified. Everything.) No smartphones (or smart watches, or any kind of smart "gadget" that isn't purely designed for utility.) (Apple is increasingly adding bells and whistles to make it 'enjoyable' to interact with their devices. I wouldn't be surprised if gamification finally turns up in later versions of iOS or the bastard OS X.) And - and this is where things get murky - no AR tech (e.g. Google Glasses).

Sure seems like a bleak world to me.
