For me its RPG and Simulation, though I do like most game genres in general :)

RPG, although not that action-oriented hack & slash people call RPG these days. Which are actually third-person action games with skills, because actual RPGs are rare enough that about one gets released a year.
Other than that, RTS and adventure. The last is having a nice period these years, so at least I'm set with decent point 'n' clicks.

RPG hands down because i love loot and want to create the most badass character i can muster from my fragile little fingers :) .

Why isn't 'dreamhouse party' a genre?

You forgot to put in the most popular genre of all...FPS? I know they're technically action games, but let's be serious, they have way transcended the genre.

My pick is adventures. Just love old style point&click.

I prefer story rich games with a plethora of fleshed out characters and the genre that offers this mostly is RPGs and hybrids. Or the more recent cinematic interaction games like the Telltale games and Beyond two Souls. Not that there's not the occasional gem in other genres it's just more common in those.

RPG just often involves action, adventure, and/or simulation. So ... yeah ... not much of a contest for me.

EDIT: Also ... those are some pretty broad genres. They might have worked bank in the day with older consoles and such. But nowadays, you kind of have to be more specific. I think everyone can agree that The Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy IV, and Diablo are all RPGs, but I think they can also agree that each one is a completely different game.

Tactic-RPGs and JRPGs are the best :P

Action with RPG elements, loot and raids. Borderlands, Destiny, etc. It's most time consuming games for me
p.s. Action-RPG without big accent on loot like Fallout 3, NV, TES is cool too, but there's nothing to do after you complete all quests

Where is hack & slash? That's the best one.

Favorite genre - FPS. Reason? Because some of my absolute favorite games are in it: S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl, F.E.A.R, Half Life 2, Metro Last Light, Far Cry, Far Cry 3, Return to castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Call of Duty 2, Bioshock Infinite and my personal favorite game of all time, Bioshock.
