Some people are just kindhearted.

never participates in a single giveaway, just wants to make people happy.
I have the greatest respect for these people.

Yeah, people like that tend to randomly appear once in a while. I still remember this guy https://www.steamgifts.com/user/mowen
Made an account just to giveaway all the hottest AAA games at that time, delivered them all and never logged in again

Don't take my word for it, but I seem to recall that 8 years ago the cheapest publisher libraries (or library packs) were just above 180 euros

Sorry, i didn't know this about you.
You did get my blueheart sometime back, but didn't notice you also are also a generous donor like CupcakeDollykins. (I don't think the amount matters as much as the intent BTW)
Do you mind if I ask what is your motivation to do this?
Also thank you for doing it - i guess in the name of this whole awsome community!

I'm impressed at how high-spec that avatar presentation is- between the border design and careful cropping, it really brings out the best of the base image. I wasn't even aware that SG patron status granted avatar editing functions until just now, but that really highlights how well one can put it to use. Also kinda emphasizes your point about the user's open-handed support of the site, given that the Patreon page lists only 66 backers in all, and you apparently need to be at least a tier 2 backer to edit avatars.

Es are currently out, sorry.
And we all know what is to blame for that.
After all, as the old mnemonic goes:
A, E, I, O, U R vowels. (And sometimes Y.)
I guess I can also accept ŭ, if that's all you've got.

There was one person (can't remember the name, had 3 letters, started with a K?) that gave away 3000+ games and not entered for one and thus didn't win one game, eventually he disappeared from the site.
If you can afford it (or even not) and it makes you happy, then why not? Even people with little money (even on food stamps) that tried to gift to people, it's people like that make this world a bit better.
There are also a bunch that can easily afford it (when you see thousands of games on their profile) and got 1000 wins and like 5 gifts.

Can't say I fall under your category as drastically as some (I've only won a few "public" GA's and don't enter much...haven't quite hit your 8-10 LvL example) but I've made two kinds of GA's -one those from bundles I didn't want to play and 2 those that I bought specifically to give away- bundle leftovers are just a way to get rid of games I don't want to play so ignore those-
Of the games or bundles, I bought to specifically give away (nearly) all were for events that I wanted to succeed. And at the time it made me happy to have people interact with whatever dumb idea for a puzzle/game/programming event/whatever I had. So at that point buying an unbundled game or buying a key for something as a reward for playing along with me was separate from anything the site gives you (CV/whatever).
Others are purely motivated by charity obviously, or some have lots of money and got bored. But I can say for me doing something like buying a copy of something slightly better for an event and hoping it succeeds is the motivation behind bigger GA's. And it might be the motivation for more people than just me.

Student123 got up to like level 12 equivalent, started a cult, and all while entering few, if any, giveaways [I can't confirm my recollection of their not entering any giveaways at all as they, along with many similar users, eventually ended up deleting their account]. Not sure how they compare to other generous gifters but, for a time, they were certainly the most visible example of such users.
From a more personal perspective, I'm always impressed by the generosity of some of our PosTho group's members.
Especially from a certain user, who has sent more to the group than anyone else, all while only ever having taken in two low-value wins [and neither of those from the group]. I've also benefitted from being put on some rather generous wishlists over the years, which certainly left their own lingering impressions.

For someone like me, it will take a decade to reach level 10.
I am neither a streamer nor a game tester and do not have access to free keys. I also don't have the ability to give away games here, occasionally I get a key at Lootboy via diamonds, but mostly I don't own the game yet and you usually don't get points for advancement.
What the heck, it's still fun to be here and with luck and a little hard work, the lucky fairy will be with me.
Therefore, many thanks to the many donors, whatever their reasons, may the fourth be with you.

I remember when I was younger and still a student, wanting to play some games but never could spare the change. Now I can and when I see a good sale for games I have enjoyed or think I might enjoy, I will buy a key or two to share. If it's a new game to me too, I will usually buy two keys, one for me, one for sharing.
Most of my giveaways come from left over bundles, because why not? Sometimes I buy a bundle for 1-2 games, and the rest go to SG. There are enough nice and friendly people here to make it worthwhile.

Llama was my favourite. He used to come on, open a thread, gift people amazon gift cards, hug pillows, games and then wake up the next day and do it all again. He once gifted me £10 DLC because my review comment made him laugh.
K, student, Keo and cowofdarkness spring to mind for massively generous people who followed/go unspoken about.

His threads made me realise that SG actually was legit and full of cool people. Had a great time back then, I had a conspiracy theory that he was student in my head, as soon as llama vanished student showed up. But i believe llama's wife was giving him grief for giving away all his cash haha.

I mean, is not this, the idea of giving, the whole foundation of the site?
I was always taught that giving is a noble act, especially when you dont expect anything in return. I grew up in Hungary, which is a mostly conservative, christian country, but I'd say this is a pretty universal sentiment across the globe.
Some people dont give at all, some do within their limitations or even despite them. Some have the means AND the willingness to do so and do it because they can. Reasons may vary person by person, the point is the same. Its nice. Contrary to general cynism, people like to do nice things.

I noticed that on SG - there are a lot of people who created about 1000 giveaways of cool games, different new AAA-s, and thus have 8-10 lvl.
However, they won only 20 games - only trash.
Why do they do it?
Spend so much money, give us great games, and at the same time do not participate in other quality giveaways.
