6gb minimum bullshiit... and 780gtx on rec hahaha very funny

you mean
A Pentium-class processor or better is recommended. More players = more CPU.

At least 16 MB RAM. 1 MB per player is recommended.

Some maps require more CPU/RAM than others.

The *.pak files from the Quake II (COD Ghosts) CD-ROM.

Enough free space on your HDD, at least ~500 MB.

If you're going to run a Q2 (COD Ghosts) server on the Internet, make sure you have enough bandwidth. The more players the more bandwidth you need.

"Next-gen" consoles just want to hamper playing games on PC...

Look on WD/CoD and Crysis. C1 is still beautiful and don't need PC from NASA, CoD still using Q3 and looks like shit. This is pathetic.

Comment has been collapsed.

lel, the reason you needed NASA space station to run Crysis was because it was terribly optimized.

Call of Duty may not be great game, but at least it runs on every machine. BO2 ran at stable 150fps (according to the in-game fps counter) with my 4GB of ram, i3 2130 @3,4GHz and GTX 460 1GB.

Next gen titles are going to be more demanding because of the hardware upgrade. They aren't (primarily) going to be developed for 8 year old machinery.

Lol, i didn't said that C1 need NASA computer :P
"Next-gen" games need too good hardware to see shit graphics.

I have old shit and can play C1 on minimum.

Gaming computers being expensive is common misconception. I got my current machine for ~900 euros and it will be (maybe) fine until new gen is going to be considered dinosaur.

I think computers in space are rather low end.

They need more testing and the background radiation is worse...

Are people stupid or smth? Alot of PS3 games already are about 50GB. The 780 is needed probably for the ubersampling and other hi end rendering. Did people honestly think that the games requirements would stay the same for ever? Heck a 780 can barely run Whitcher 2 @60fps with ubersampling on.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Super sampling isn't really worth the extra performance requirements. It renders the game at 2x or 4x of your current resolution depending on your choice and scales it back down to your normal res. Few details can look nicer, but overall drop in performance isn't worth it.

Those effects are needed they look very nice. Especially a 780 wont be a big deal soon when the 20nm cards will come out where a midrange card will be like a 780 like it was with a gtx580 and a 660.

If your rig can handle it and you want the extra eye candy, then go for it. But I wouldn't go for it, at least not yet until I get second GPU.

Exactly, people shouldnt complain about these high requirements they are meant for users who have heavily invested in their rigs, they can always turn some settings down.

Then it shouldn't be under recommended...

Comment has been collapsed.

Isn't it normal to recommend something that is better than the maximum requirements, so the hardware won't be chugging every now and then? Besides, Nvidia are the business partners here and they want to make money, and as people already know that Cod audience aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. Easy money.

But still, GTX 780 is overkill for Cod.

I was under the impression that "minimum" denoted the specs needed to run the game with everything on the lowest possible setting, and that "recommended" denoted the specs needed to run everything on medium.

But maybe I'm wrong :)

The 780 is just marketing BS. The game is sponsored by Nvidia. And they want to sell their stuff.

Its not about 780 the point is you need a high end video card to run high end things like ubersampling

Well... Be suprised how big this game would be, they are really pushing the boundries in this game, 4 main modes; Singleplayer, Multiplayer, Squads and Extinction not much info on it but the rumors are it's aliens. A (kind of) new engine, 20,000 friggin possible player models, bigger MW2 styled dynamic maps.

You probably can play games from era when your grandpa was a kid. That means 64bit is most likely the only one to be supported, can play with 32bit but if you run into trouble, well you're shit out of luck.

Why not? Rage and Max Payne 3 was 30GB around, many games have been huge, expect more like this in the future.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

RAGE was using Megatextures and while for a 1meter of in-game world, the resolution of average texture was pretty low - it had the advantage, which made the terrain look all you unique, lacking any repetition whatsoever. MP3 on the other hand - while it was quite a linear game, had lengthy enough storymode, with unique set of props for almost every mission. I'm absolutely boggled, where all these resources go with COD: Ghosts - all we've seen showed rather small tile textures, with some extremely linear levels... If this is going to be like 12 hours long storyline campaign and has like 30 multiplayer maps, tons of customization of items etc. + 2 other shoehorned modes - I get it - there is a reason for that. But these requirements, with such an amount of space required, considering what was presented only give an impression of some huge wastage of resources - not only when it comes to space, but a raw computing power as well.

I know all about how Rage works, was really into it before it released, all I am saying is expect games THIS GEN to be around this....

Also we don;t know how many props, how large, etc....this game is even until its out correct? I just don't see 50gb as a big deal...a 4tb drive is a little over 100 bucks now on sale...
