SG just uses sites so people can find deals.
cg said he was considering talking to GMG to see if we can get some exclusive SG coupon, but this was months back.

They are sponsored, they are maked behind the usual commission junction url hiders (anrdoezrs.net for example).
Green Man Gaming basic affiliation rate is 5% on sales, GamersGate is 8% atm.

Links also include the websites referral tags, for GMG you can see the ?gmgr=vadarevv which means whoever owns the GMG acc that has the vadarevv affiliate tag receives an extra 2$ GMG store credit every time someone creates an acc and buy a game over 2$ using one of those links.
The GG tag is caff=12891 which means that whoever owns the GG acc with the 12891 gets an extra 1-10% (most likely 10% given the traffic here if I has to guess) of sales in bluecoins.

I do not have any problem with those links being sponsored btw, but I don't like wrong information being told.

Yep, MisterHouse nailed it. You see GMG and GamersGate sales at the bottom of our site because they provide a mix of commission and credit. I prefer them over traditional advertising when available because they're less distracting and have value for our users. Commissions go towards our servers and development, and store credit goes 99% towards giveaways.

I think I'm currently sitting on the largest collection of GMG and GamersGate credit known to man. Ideally, I'd like to setup live stats, where users are able to see the current credit available, and help to vote or select which games it's spent towards. Suggestions are welcome.

if you want a free website and most of us do i imagine then ad's are gonna be on it, theyre not offensive nor do they involve trickery so for me theyre a part of using the site, gala giveways old site is a lesson in how not to do it the ad's their were horrible up until the revamp recently

Sort of, yes, in that anyone who buys banner ads here is sponsoring the site by definition, and links to it earn affiliate cash just like anywhere else.
