So in my laptop I was looking to upgrade the RAM, the RAM is replaceable by the way. I checked and the RAM slot was DDR3 SDRAM.

Is there a difference between DDR3 RAM and DDR3 SDRAM; or are they the same thing?

So I can't put DDR3 RAM in a DDR3 SDRAM slot, because it's smaller?

BS. You're talking SO-DIMM.
RAM is always called SDRAM nowadays, for your purpose.

I got confused more than you. I was like reading your original post three times and couldn't figure out why SD means smaller format out of the blue lol.
