I think it's neat to help fund an independent spacecraft. This Kickstarter isn't asking for a lot of money, just enough to get to the next stage of engine testing, which should help get the big money. You won't get a product in your hands from pledging (although they do have shirts and other neat stuff), but you'll get the warm feeling of giving the future another leg up.
