Hi! My real CV ratio is not the greatest (1.36 if I'm looking at the right place) and maybe half of my recent GAs were to a closed group, but I've since left that group and I'll focus my future GAs into either PAGYWOSG, SG Magazine or whitelist. Used to gift a lot to SG Pillars but I got kicked out of the group once my ratio fell below 2, and hence stopped gifting there. If you're only looking for extremely prolific gifters I might not be your guys, but still throwing my name for consideration :)

Hi. I know you and have already looked at you in the past. While I really appreciate you whitelisting me, I am afraid I can not return the favor. For my personal taste, I want to see more public giveaways, either in the past, now or in the future. Percentagewise, you even have won more public giveaways than you have done (in real CV).
So, I'm sorry, but it is a "No" from me.

Understandable, and I appreciate it. I know the direction I want to go with my GA's, so hopefully with time my ratio/profile improves :)
Just FYI, the whitelisting was not a result from this post/event, it's been there for a while thanks to your contribution to the community. There was never an expectation of tit-fot-tat. Just wanted to make this extra clear in case it seemed I had whitelisted you just for this event.

Hey there! :) I would love to considered. Right now my CV is sitting at around 100:5 but I'm fairly new to the community so this might be disproportionate as I haven't had much opportunity to win yet, (I did get lucky and won a copy of Fight in the Arena on my first week, though!)
I hope to be an active contributor to SG. I have a few friends that are developers and I'm also getting started in game creation so it'd be dope to be able to add my own titles in the future as well. I'm mindful to give more than I take and I've tried to come up with a few creative activities to go alongside some of my giveaways in hopes of adding value to the community as well as incorporating myself into it a little better.
I think there might be one problem with my giveaways that disqualify me from your selection, which is that they are mostly bundled games. Thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and leave it to your discretion anyways! Thank you for your consideration :)

Thanks for answering, I'll try to improve my ratio

Hello.
I say that you are on a very good path and thank you for doing so many GAs. But at this time, you are still too new to be considered. When you keep up your ratio, bump this posting again in a few months and I will be happy to take another look

Wow. I'm impressed at the longevity of this thread. From what I can tell, I'm about 97 gifted to 21 won. I joined a long time ago but only recently have been trying to interact on the site. Let me know if I meet the other standards of the whitelist, as they seem particular.

Well, I've been here for over a decade, so a WL recruitment thread can run for a looooong time :D
Yup, I have seen that you only started GAs about 2 months ago. May I ask why, tho? I am curious :)
Due to this reason, I have to treat you as a new member who only joined the site two months ago and as such you will get the same treatment/answer as the other ones: Consider bumping this posting in a few months so that I can see if you kept up your stream of GAs

My friend pointed out the site to me, and when I joined I tried entering to win keys, but basically never won anything at the time. Humble Bundle was doing a lot of $1 bundles at the time, and it didn't seem worth the time investment, when I never won anything.

Looking over my keys available to gift, I'm not sure I have many left to keep up much significant gifting over time, and my financial/family circumstances mean I have to be pretty careful with my purchases, so I can't be as extravagant with bundle shopping and ending up with extra keys. I'll see what I can manage.
Thank you for checking anyway.

(Beware, it's a wall of text)
Through the forums I was recently made aware of several circle jerk groups. Curiosity got the better of me and I looked around, just to plunge headfirst into a rabbit hole. One group led to the next and so on, with a considerate amount of always the same users making up the bulk of those group members.
Now, what are circle jerk groups (in my eyes)?
Those are groups, that are deliberately kept very small. Their goal is to create giveaways with as few entries as possible, but at least five entries to gain CV. So effectively they trade games within their group but instead of just trading or gifting the games outside of SG, they create group GAs for it. Those are groups deliberately created with bad intentions.
Why? To farm CV and levels so that they can enter every public GA there is without the need to give anything back outside of their small group.
This led me to take a long and honest look at my Whitelist, which in return led to a massive pruning which I will just call: The Purge!
Today I had to delete 113 users from my whitelist. 23 of those seemingly took part in said circle jerk groups.
Now, most of the time I can not really proof that a GA is for a circle jerk group. On the other hand, I was able to identify quite a lot of bad actors who are multi-accounting, scamming, autojoining, abusing freebies, cheating, gaming the system and so on. Those users tend to join the same groups, which makes it easier to identify groups which were created with bad intentions. Those groups I will consider as circle jerk groups.
Of course there are also small groups who were created without bad intentions.
Sometimes several bad actors also are members of those groups. If that is the case, I will at least try to dig deeper, as far as I can have a look without being a member of those groups.
If no bad actors are members of said groups and no deliberate CV farming takes place, of course I will not treat those groups as circle jerk groups and will not remove anyone from my WL who is a member of those groups.
Furthermore I also removed everyone who did not log into SG for at least one year. Because when I want new members to be active, I have to apply the same rules to the old members.
Active also means doing giveaways, so I also removed everyone who stopped doing giveaways except the ones who also no longer join GAs and do still log into the site.
I tried to be thorough and fair but of course I make mistakes. If you feel you have erroneously been removed from my WL, you can hit me up on Steam and talk about it.
Cheers.

Okay so now that you apparently know which of the groups here are those shady circle groups, would you mind to let me know, cuz im really curious! :)

I'm not sure when and why was I removed, and I'm apparently also blocked on Steam? but as I needed to go back 7 months to find a GA I entered - it either happened a while ago, or apparently the change - whenever it happened - it doesn't really affects me. At the end of the day, that's good enough for me :P

That kind of groups (with ratio and private) exist since almost the beginning, it is the faster way to win a lot and farm CV at the same time, while you can join high level public GAs.
I like to call them random trading groups. They only create private giveaways on those groups to farm CV but join and win a lot of public giveaways because of their high level. That is one of the problems of the level system, those giveaways should not give CV or should require more entries.

So I see you blacklisted me, which is fine... Aren't you being hypocritical yourself in these circle jerk.groups? Looking at your giveaways most are Whitelist, Group, Region Restricted giveaway. No public giveaways? Don't you think doing mostly giveaways on your whitelist is a form of a circle jerk group? Just trying to understand your thought process.

Current Whitelist count: 284 :)
Important update June 2024
Hello there.
My views on this changed, so I will post an update. All these criteria have just one goal: To find active members of SG who don't cheat, don't leech, don't game the system, do play fair and are contributing to this site with giving away more then they win.
Aaaaaaand that's it! Kinda easy to get on my Whitelist, isn't it? ;)
