What's your opinion on the pose being removed.

People did give a fuck.
With the outcome that the plans for an international release outside of Japan were cancelled outright, due to cultural differences.
(although apparently it's released region-free with English audio included, so if you really want it, imported copies should work)

Im going to write a complaint to blizzard that Jum Raynor is way to handsome , and is also smoking and drinking alcohol .
Thats giving unrealistic ideal to the young generations , also tolerates smoking and alcohol abuse .
Also Racism towards different races .
It also can lead to terrorism , mass murder and all sorts of other crime .
That needs to be censored NOW !

They actually removed Tychus' cigar on Heroes of the Storm because it could hurt sensibilities, or promote smoking or something like that.

I hate for that reason all the opinions that are only sustained in the fact that you are a father or a mother. Con-fucking-gratis, but that doesn't mean your opinion is worth more, or has any more sense that anyone's else.
I mean, if I had kids and I didn't want them to see certain content for whatever reason, I'll just make sure they don't.

It honestly seems like people have run out of valid things to be offended by.

That pic doesn't seem oversexualized (it's just an average shot from behind, she is not doing anything sexually charged). Also, the user seems to imply that a woman who is capable of accomplishing some task (especially something that is perceived as "male stuff") shouldn't ever be sexy.

Indeed?
That's exactly what I said in other answer, what's the problem, she can only be sexy if sexy is the only defining factor of the character as a whole? Otherwise, you can't? It's ridiculous, isn't it?

I agree with the removal, but not because of the "oversexualisation", which I don't really see in this case. This pose just looks too generic/unmemorable imho and the devs stated that they already had better pose in works, which probably will fit in better. It's their artistic right to change something they weren't happy with.

im sure you cand fin many valid arguments about how bad is sexualizing characters not only on video games, but at the same time im sure you can make some valid arguments about empowering and embracing one self and what not about those characters.... so in the end its all the same to me, if you want to empowers yourself and you found that you like doing so in what people might consider "sexy" things, go ahead whatever makers you happy.
As these are fictional characters they are up to the creators to do with them what they consider consistent, reasonable, responsible and whatever.... so yeah, neither argument is right or wrong.
As a very very personal note i do find over sexualizing characters annoying, but mostly on anime, felt that most videogames characters are quite consistent.

I am okay with some dude being ofended with this but what is wrong to me is blizzard taking this shit, if they did this design in the first place there are 2 posibilities, they intended it to be sexy so thats it, they didnt intended to be sexy and so it isnt and so it doesn need a change, i am so fricking tired of people gettin ofended for anything and companies giving them the reason... its dumb and censoring, if a developer wants the pose to be like that let them, dont use the hero, don look at it and thats it...
now i like sexy character but no overexagerated ones, thats why i tend to get away from ecchi animes :P and this is perfectly fine and sexy, but not nearly enought for someone to get ofended

He must be get caught by his mom fapping to Tracer's victory pose.

if a view from behind is considered sexual then pretty much every third person game with the possibility of a female protagonist is screwed on that one. I've never really found the arse to be an attractive part of the body though so maybe I'm not the best judge on the matter
personally I'm against most censorship, there are some times when it's appropriate but 99% of the time it's completely unnecessary (content warnings and optional censorship are another matter entirely, but actual removal of content just because it might offend a few people seems excessive)

well if a woman's victory pose doesn't involve her holding aloft the head of her fallen enemy, then it's no victory pose at all and should be adjusted accordingly, imo
that aside, the whole thing has been turned ridiculous and manages to be hypocritical towards itself simply by invoking the "too sexualised" argument for absolutely no reason. if these people thought a male character had a victory pose that didn't fit his assigned personality, they'd probably manage to voice their complaint without making it all about the corrupting evil of his manly backside.

So an user wrote a complaint on the battle.net forums regarding this particular Victory Pose, shown by the Blizzard Overwatch character Tracer (attached image at the bottom, might be considered NSFW for some (?), I dunno better safe than sorry)
From what I infer from his post he is uncomfortable with the idea of sexualizing a character whose lore does not present her as a particularly sexy (?) (can't find the right word here, pardon me) but has other defining qualities, as opposed to other Heroes (?) whose sexuality is a more prominent part of their kit, such as the sniper Widowmaker or the K-Pop singer, D-Va
What's your opinion in the matter? Do you think that the distint characteristics of Tracer do not mix with her being overtly sexual? What's your opinion in general on sexualization of both female and male characters in video games? Is it an issue? If so, why?
Feel free to elaborate on the matter, and I would like to beg y'all to keep the discussion civil.
I found the topic on the following pcgamer article
If you were looking for a giveaway prepare to be disappointed, not gonna bribe you guys so that you express yourselves, I'd rather we all discussed for the sake of it. <3
NSFW-ish?
EDIT: Be sure to check out Sooth 's comment for some more context
