I have a question for you Steam experts here, will the Mysterious Cards be sellable on the Steam Market directly or do you need to wait until the sale starts? Also, do you think the price on the cards will spike the first day of the sale or is it better to sell before the sale, if that's possible?

Mystery cards can always be sold after dropping unless the one or more of the cards of the crafted badge is/are not tradable.

About price nobody can ever tell you when or why it will spike. It may be higher on the first day or later on also but it will reduce when free card drops start.

Its better to sell before the sale cause prices of these cards will be higher.

Here i was 'yay so its happening!!'. I was jumping on my chair. I was feeling like popping a beer and finally having some hopes and hype for the oncoming sale. Nostalgic memories of sale crazy, good titles poping on my library, badge crafting and summer card selling for one extra title with the ghostly embodiement of Gaben floating above filled me with joy.
And then i reached the tab i opened. The let down. The sinking depression.

usualy the cards are available a week or so before the sale actually starts ( sometimes even more ) ... but they are called a mystery card and its just a ? .
Once the sale actually hits , they get revealed as to what actually the card is .

You get cards when you craft a badge , thats the main mechanic of getting the cards to begin with.
The ones from Que or the stupid clicker event or w/e they come up with next are just bonus cards.
Most cards actually come from crafting badges ... you get 1 card for every badge you craft .
If you craft a badge with cards that are unmarketable ( from games from Digital Homicide for example ) the sale card you will get will also be unmarketable .
Same goes for untradable stuff ( for example if you had a card that you just got from the market , the Sale card you will get after crafting a badge using even 1 card that has marketing restriction, will have he same restriction as the card .... if multiple cards have such restriction ... it takes the longest )

Cards start dropping usually about a week before the sale. Instead of the coupon you get for crafting badges, they substitute a card instead.

Last year I crafted my badges after 6 PM GMT, so they might start dropping in an hour or two. But only Valve knows, maybe we won't have holiday cards at all this sale.

I never understood why people expect them to be higher. Literally millions of people know about this. The miracle of expensive event cards could only have lasted exactly one sale before the masses got in on it, yet every sale I see many users believing that this time around it will be different.

Yea, i calculated with 0.12 so my badges worth almost the same. But with 0.07-0.08 i can start thinking about selling the cards instead on the market. Or maybe sell them for CS:GO keys.

It's the first time they dip so low in the first hour. As Klapp said it might not have been anything spectacular(somewhere around .15 ~ .12) but we're already down to .07
We're looking at a sale where they're going for .04 ~ .03 throughout, not just the final 2-3 days.

I got in on it after several sales, and each time the price dropped to a stable ~0.20 per card for the first day or so. But since 1-2 years ago they've been almost immediately dropping to 0.10. Probably somewhere in between, a lot of people really caught on.

How can you tell if a Mistery card drop can be marketable? cause I've just crafted a badge, and it tells me that the mistery card cannot be marketable untill 22-06-2017

if you recently bought a card to complete the set you cannot immediately sell it
just like regular cards that you buy, you cannot sell them again right after you bought them
if that makes any sense to you. sry english is not my first language

Its marketability is based on the cards you used to craft it. If they are marketable, so is it. Otherwise, whatever is longest from marketable in the crafting cards will be on the card crafted.
