What is your favorite memory involving alcohol?
Have you been? I've lived here for about a month; I was going to move a bit outside, but this place is full of interesting types of people.

I live in a residential area and 2 massage places are right across the street. Who is so stressed? Maybe some people get too exhausted after their first massage and need another to cool down.
The whole city does seem to have been built on top of mattress springs, but the sexy stuff seems to be handled by hourly rooms or weekly girlfriends. Lots of retiree types here.

I actually didn't really drink much of anything for about a year. Except water and milk, I guess.

No favorite memories, i quit for 4 1/2 weeks now.
Well i usually drank beer mixed with some cheap bottle from the lidl (Mojito's were so fine, but they removed it from the stores here) play some 90's house music and play TF2. Were nice times, but it was starting to give issues with my body, so needed to quit for myself.

You've done well then. Enjoy sobriety responsibly, too.

Like a thing called gabber :p
It was a nice era, though eighties might have been better. I am 3 years younger then you.
But i think it's also because when you are still a chld and young you don't really have to face the problems adults have, but the world also just seemed friendlier, relaxed.

All Alcohol. Mostly rum though.
Pattaya likely has explosions coming out of bedrooms, but not those kind.

I'm a beer geek and drink a little more than healthy
I've been to Thailand but my wife didnt want to go to Pattaya. Lol, cant really blame her. So we skipped that part.
A lot of our friends have been there and they came back with unbelievable (awesome) stories.

I can identify with that. I've been all around other parts of the country, but I always skipped Pattaya since I thought it would be a s***hole. And it is. But in an endearing kind of way.

Aaah, my fondest drinking memory was when getting a blackout, with the last clear memory of the night being me laughing after getting a free shot of polish vodka at the room next to mine on a cruise :)
I've been wanting to go to Thailand after hearing about the monkeys that go into hotel rooms to steal potato chips over there not sure if it's common though, happened to a friend at least so I hope it's common since I want to see that live with my own eyes instead of just camera pictures

Some monkeys live on a small hill north of here. I caught a group of them stealing fruit out of the back of a pickup truck on the highway once. No monkeys nearby now at least.

Growing up, I never got the appeal of it and avoided it until university. I was afraid it was something that would just completely make me lose myself. What was your reason?
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't drink too much when i go out. I wish i could drink till i go to coma.
Comment has been collapsed.
You probably COULD drink a lot and go into a coma, but it's a bad idea.

People can get addicted, but the feeling of being buzzed or drunk isn't so bad itself. I was the same way as you for most of my life.

Hey, thanks a lot for this thread! Happy holidays!

I'm not too surprised, since those kind of things wouldn't generally lead to happy memories, but still. Kind of hoped for weird stories.

Well, I just had it 2 times, first time I was held by authorities for walking drunk (I was walking back to my home at 3 am, yes, just walking, welcome to BR), and I just said "I am drunk and going home" (legal age to drink = 18, I was about 14 years old) and the second authority run was about 5-7 years back when I was at graduating on my bachelor's degree living on somewhat of a fraternity and I was elected to talk with authorities after a party, it was the third time doing that (as I've talked to two problematic guests). Authorieties asked me what was the commotion about just plain told them it was a party and they were welcome to join, had to sign a statement of disturbance and gave my id number. (Not so weird feking stories, sorry :~ )

If "BR" means "Brazil," where do you live in Brazil? I was studying in Salvador and Sao Paulo.

Sit down and listen, i have a nice story for y'all:
Happened when i was 17, New Year's eve, abandoned farm in the middle of nowhere, no working toilets. The toilet part is extremely important. Instead of a toilet we went and used a giant pile of horse crap. There were 10 other people besides me there. I didn't drink much, always had a beer and a shot of vodka and then drank pepsi for the rest of the night when me and my friends were at the pub. And these fuckers decided to get me drunk on that day.
So, the day went on, everyone was having fun, chatting and drinking merrily. And every few minutes a "friend" came to me and toasted with me to something. Fast forward to the evening, i had a bottle and half of vodka in me. Didn't even notice that those lovely people almost poisoned me. Well, whatever. Nature called, so i went over to the improvised toilet, unzipped my pants and fell face first into the pile of shit and piss. Took me weeks to wash out the stench out of my hair.
And since then i don't drink alcohol. Not a fucking drop.

Here are 120 copies of 34 different games, all brought to you by Alcohol.
All GAs are invite-only from this thread, Level 3 and up, giving you a pretty good chance to come away with at least something this holiday/alcohol season. The games aren't much, but I figured I'd spread my cat as wide as I could without making a sexual euphemism be too obvious.
The GAs end on Christmas Thailand time. I've just moved back here, this time to Pattaya, and it's just the damn sleaziest place I've ever seen. Thrust up against the rest of the world's seedy bourgeoisie--Las Vegas, Tijuana, and even nearby Bangkok--Pattaya makes them all look as chaste as Medina and as prude as Hester Prynne. The fairest assessment I can give is that for being a God-forsaken, libertine, bacchanalian hellhole full of sex-addled misfits, I kind of like it anyway. Pattaya is for f***ing weirdos. Literally, if you're into that.
Enjoy the games, your loved ones, and/or alcohol responsibly. The poll invites discussion of fond memories with or without alcohol.
