Thanks, all done. Quick and easy.

If you already own some games on Steam, you can supposedly start another transfer and add them to a different account.

Same here.. I unlinked my main Steam account and linked another Steam account for my double games.
Tried transfering my Quake games to that Steam account, but no luck so far.

Yea, did not work for me either. I've contacted support to get my original account re-linked

This means I can still buy a game for the Bethesda launcher and then transfer it? If so, it would be cool, because in my case, I'm interested in Doom Eternal, which is cheaper there than on Steam.

Q: Will Bethesda.net still sell products through the website?
A: No, we have ceased sales of our products on the Bethesda.net website. Please note, this does not include the official Bethesda Merchandise Store.

I'm getting an error message when trying to link my Bethesda account to Steam. I can't tell if it's because of the volume of users right now, or if it's because of Bethesda coding jankiness.

All I have on that account is Morrowind. It'd be nice to have it on Steam though.

"If you have received the error message “Account linking failed. Please retry or contact Customer Support for assistance” when attempting to link your account, this indicates that your Steam account is currently linked to a Bethesda.net account that you may or may not be aware of creating. This is called a “quick account” and is created when you played another Bethesda.net game that didn’t require full registration.

The below are some of the Bethesda.net Products and Services you may have accessed that could have caused the link:
Participated in Mods or Creation Club in Fallout 4 or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Played Quake Champions through Steam
Played The Elder Scrolls: Legends on any platform.
Played The Elder Scrolls: Blades on iOS / Android or Nintendo Switch
In these cases, you may just need to complete your Bethesda.net account registration. You can view instructions on how to do this here: How do I complete my Bethesda.net Account Registration?

You can check what the Bethesda.net Account is linked to by visiting the Linked Accounts page of your account on the Bethesda.net site. You can also unlink from this page as well, if you know the account information.

However, you may not know which account and /or email address is being used. To proceed with assisting you, we will need some further information to help us identify the unknown account you linked to the Steam account in question."

Yes, I figured out that my Steam account was already linked to some other Bethesda account I made ages ago for some reason. Possibly for Fallout Shelter? Either way I fixed it all and now I have Morrowind on Steam/

I thought it deserves distinct mention.

This was neat to know. I actually have an account with them, but sadly. I don't have anything purchased from them. All have been purchased via steam already. Except for ESO which is through ESO.com. Steal, nice of them to do that so people don't loose out on games they purchased.

Error Completing Transfer

We've reviewed your account and it appears it doesn't have anything that needs to be transferred.

Doesn't seem fair to me that you lose out on (now) region restricted stuff.

Hey there, just a little heads-up. I have since received a response from their support and the problem has been resolved. Attempting the transfer again should now allow you to transfer Quake III Arena as well, if you have not done so already.

Oh wow amazing. I didn't think they'd fix it at all and now it even happened actually so quick. Very nice.

Already (not) working as expected. Cannot transfer Quake III Arena, probably as it is not sold on steam in Germany, even though there are keys for the game that are supposed to be working in Germany offered by Gamesplanet.
I have already contacted Bethesda's support and will update here if the problem is resolved.

Update: Problem has been fixed.

Did they ever get back to you?
There's a new section in the FAQ where they claim they'll actively work towards getting anyone who's transfer failed due to region restrictions their games if you contact them, so they're definitely aware of the issue by now.

I originally was gonna wait with migrating my games until Bethesda had worked all the bugs out, so to speak, but decided to just go ahead with it and then write a ticket to support this morning before heading to work (can't hurt, the more tickets the more awareness of this issue).
Back home about 9 hours later, this is the answer I got:

Greetings!
We appreciate your patience while we investigated games not appearing in the Steam library after migration.
We have resolved an issue that prevented the transfer of Quake 3 Arena, Hexen, Hexen 2, and Heretic. To resolve it on your side, please go back to the migration option on the website and re-run the migration.
Here is the direct link to the migration part of the website: https://bethesda.net/en/account/transfer-library
Note: Please make sure you are logged into the correct account before hitting the Transfer button.

I did the migration again and Quake 3 did transfer correctly this time, so it does seem like they fixed it alright.
Try again and see if it works for you as well.

Just got their response about half an hour ago, thanking for my patience and stating that they fixed the problem preventing the transfer of Quake 3 Arena, Hexen, Hexen 2 and Heretic. As instructed, I tried the migration process again and the remaining game has been transferred successfully.

Pre-ordered the Rage 2 Deluxe Edition for Bethesda.net back then, and the Steam transfer gave me the Standard edition without pre-order bonus. Contacted the Bethesda support and waiting for reply, but it would hilarious that if I'd lose my contents because that I choose to bought the product for Bethesda.net, not Steam. It would be some real buyer's remorse.

Thanks for the kindness, borsdy! The Bethesda support just replied and told me that despite the Steam store and my library shows it's Standard edition without DLCs or other contents, there would be all contents in-game. I just installed and checked everything is there in-game. They stated that this happens because the in-game contents like DLCs and pre-order bonuses distributed by Bethesda's server, not through Steam. They also told me that this only applies 3 of Bethesda's games; Rage 2, Deathloop, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
Well, I'm not sure what would happen in the future when Bethesda's servers goes down, but for now everything's there.

RAGE 2 is kinda special case, since all DLCs are microtransactions. Can't even buy from Steam direct.

activated(transferred) on Steam:

Arx Fatalis
Fallout 3 basic edition (hm, but I bought GOTY... however, it doesn't matter)
Doom 2
Morrowind Game of the Year
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Ultimate Doom
Quake
Quake 2
Quake 3 Pack

Not transferred pre-order DLCs(were activated by keys in Bethesda.net) for Rage 2 and Wolfenstein: Youngblood =(

I successfully migrated Doom Eternal and I have it currently installed. Do you think there is a way I can play it through Steam without reinstalling it? (Steam doesn't see the game)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

1) move the game files to the Steam Games directory (...\steamapps\common\DOOMEternal )
2) then run the installation of the game via Steam
3) Steam will recheck the files...

Thank you, but there is a problem 😬
I do not have enough space on my SSD so I cannot run the installation 😭

EDIT: Tried this and it doesn't work (or I am doing something wrong).

EDIT2: Tried this, doesn't work for me either.

EDIT3: I managed to manually create the appmanifest file and it still doesn't work, reinstalling is probably the only solution.
