Well, they didn't for a while: for a few years, Turner / Time Warner stopped broadcasting Speedy Gonzales cartoons, fearing he might be seen as offensive. Latino activists reassured them and several years ago, they started airing Speedy Gonzales cartoons again, in time for the character to appear in Loony Toons: Back in Action, where the character lamented PC-ness killing his career.
In December 2015, Warner revealed they're planning a Speedy Gonzales movie. There's not much info yet and it's possible it's fallen through, but according to Wired.co.uk: The 21st century Speedy Gonzales will be voiced by Mexican actor, screenwriter, and director Eugenio Derbez. "In Mexico we grew up watching Speedy Gonzales. He was like a superhero to us, or maybe more like a revolutionario like Simon Bolivar or Pancho Villa," said Derbez. "He watched out for the little people but with a lot of bravado and a weakness for the ladies. I'm really excited to be bringing this character to the big screen. And besides being Mexican, my full name is Eugenio Derbez Gonzalez and I have big ears. The casting couldn't be better."
