I was looking on the Homefront website (don't ask me why I own this game I got it for free, ok?)

When I saw this

Choose your language

American Flag=English
British Flag=British
and Australia...really?

God I hate this world

Yup, I agree. I remember back in the day it was just the British flag for English, and everybody understood that.

Or the USA flag.

It sometimes still is. One or the other. Depending on the site really.

Yup, one or the other. It's ridiculous that they have to put every damn country on their now, or the kiddies will get confused.

I am Canadian and I approve this message.

I also approve. We should all mail the developers and say we wanted to buy the game but it didn't support our language of Canadian.

more of a regional pricing thing maybe, rather than actually being "language"? (I don't actually know that but... maybe there is a practical reason, despite the wording)... mate.

Regional pricing, possibly VAT, makes sense.

No! I get it! It's not asking you what your language you speak. It's asking you for your nationality. The "English" bit that goes with the Star Spangled Banner is just to trick the Yanks into admitting that they are in actual fact still just English settlers, effectively nullifying the declaration of independence. Sneaky. Veeeery sneaky.

There are no spelling differences between Australian English, Canadian English, and British English. America decided to play around with letters - hence they get their own button, so they don't get confused.

Not sure, but I think his objection is to the fact that American was labelled "English" and English and Australian English were labelled "British" and "Australian" respectively. If they'd been labelled "American English", "English" and "Australian English" he'd be a happy camper.

I was gonna say maybe it had to do with regional pricing units and availability rather than just language... but the store wouldn't even add anything to the cart for me and it was all in dollars... so I think it's just a broken pile of crap LOL.

Yeah... that's pretty irksome.

Apparently that's not English they speak, in effing England.

Welp, at least there's Italian there.

Some games only pick English, French and German. But they'll soon receive an offer they can't refuse.

But yeah, it's utterly pointless. I wonder if they make a different localization for the game as well based on that.

Now THAT would be wasted money.
