i don't think that this is a criteria for good parents nowadays. pushovers can probably be great parents
but i think i would be a horrible father because i'm lazy,absolutely uninterested in everyday normal problems and fascinated by bigger concepts and constructs. a day dreamer who doesn't give a flying fuck about the problems that loved ones around him have.

Well, in the long run it might be helpful to at least sometime actually exercise some control over what they eat, when they sleep, if they do their homework, etc ;)
